I wish I were as cool as you Monica!!! So nice! Loving your bag too! :)
December 8th, 2011instant awesome!
December 8th, 2011HOORAY for adorable helpers. Goldens are….well, golden. No doubt.
LOVE the red and white house quilt hanging in the background of the second photo.
Wish packing up and getting out of the house was always that easy. Pretty slick! :-)
December 8th, 2011lurf. i want one.
December 8th, 2011Goldens!!!! But, really, slobber? Mine would NEVER do that :-)
December 8th, 2011I’m stealing your chairs when I come to your house. Just letting you know ahead of time.
December 8th, 2011You should be, you frugal genius!
December 8th, 2011How perfect is that? Where you headed?
December 8th, 2011Keeps everything neat, and *cool!*
December 8th, 2011Bam!
Awesome! That may be the perfect setup ever plus what a lovely helper you have too!
December 8th, 2011Ooh nice travel bag. I got a flat portfolio bag at the art store ($15) for my cutting mat and rulers but never thought of a sewing machine bag.
December 8th, 2011And TJ’s besides…what could be better! Ok, maybe In and Out…
December 8th, 2011Smart thinking! I absolutely love my TJ’s bag like that too. Have yet to use it for my sewing machine but give me time.
December 8th, 2011NOTHING SORT OF BRILLIANT!!!
December 8th, 2011Really, really clever! And watch me copy that next time I get to TJ’s.
December 8th, 2011AND it’s insulated! And everyone hates sewing on a potentially warm sewing machine.
p.s. I love the bricks on your wall. LOVE.
December 8th, 2011Hey Happy Girl, where did you find that cool fold-up hand cart??! I NEED one of those. ;0
December 8th, 2011How did I ever live without you? This post comes at the most convenient time. I am traveling to America in the morning. Post office and Trader Joe’s run. I hear there are things called Peppermint Joe Joe’s that I have to have??? And now I can add cooler to my list. Thank you.
December 8th, 2011That fold up hand truck means business! Much nicer than the Weebles one I have. Plus, you get to look cool and hip, too. I swear, your mind is devilishly clever. Wish it would rub off on me.
December 8th, 2011What a great idea, Monica! You always have the most clever ideas and actually work them out to show us how to “Make It Work!”
If I didn’t have a carrier already, I would absolutely do this too.
December 9th, 2011Very cool, Zombie!!! You’re so clever!!!
December 9th, 2011Silly Girl. Helper isn’t seeking approval. He’s just making sure that you’ll be taking him with you to — well, wherever you’re carting that machine. Retreat? Evening Get-Together? All of the Above. Don’t forget the Helper — he’s screaming it in his eyes!
December 9th, 2011genius……..Im on my way to Trader Joes!!!! I needed some peppermint jojos anyways!!!!!
December 9th, 2011Great plan, my friend. Love your collapsing dolly! Thanks for reminding us that frugal in luggage means more money for fabric!!
December 9th, 2011Great thinking! Your helper looks sad at the thought of being left behind…or maybe he’s thinking ‘did I leave slaver on her sewing machine?’
December 9th, 2011You are traveling in style! I love your helper. He looks sad you are leaving though. Oh, I would love one of those folding carts.
December 9th, 2011What a clever girl you are! Dual Sewing Machine Tote and Beer cooler… or Icecream cooler … depending on the audience.. wink!
love the helper.. what a sweet face!
December 10th, 2011The ready-to-go arrangement is great, but Helper is best of all! What a lovie.
December 10th, 2011That hand truck rocks. It looks like a spy-gadet from Mission Impossible. Does it come with a hunky spy (no Tom Cruise plz, maybe Daniel Craig?) Helper’s look says to me “But mom, where’s my bag?” PS: Chocolate covered cranberries @ TJ’s are heavenly.
December 10th, 2011ok so now where are ya going?
December 10th, 2011Well, I had absolutely no idea Trader Joe’s sold quilting supplies! Cool! (get it, cool!) I spy a beautiful red and white school house quilt!!!!
December 11th, 2011I’m sorry, your dog doesn’t look convinced lol.
December 12th, 2011So…what pattern did you use for the lovely bag on top of your sewing machine cooler/tote?
=============================
Thank you, Holly! It’s the Amy Bulter Weekender bag pattern. I have a blog post about it here and here.
December 13th, 2011that is brilliant! Trader Joe’s is going to wonder why they are suddenly having a run on coolers!
December 14th, 2011What a great idea!! I was about to ask Santa for a sewing machine tote. Wondering if costco sells the cart in their stores or online only. Your helper is very sweet.
December 14th, 2011Off to TJ’s…thanks Monica!
This is perfect! It’s such a pain in the patuckus getting everything ready to go. I so love the bag you made. I may have to attempt one…some day. And wook at youw wittwe angew wif the wittwe dwoopy eyes…Yes, I’m gross, but your puppers are so darn adorable! And have much better manners than their weenie cousin to the south. xoxomf!
December 16th, 2011For Heaven’s sake, what a clever use of the TJ bag!! and thanks very much for the link to the handcart. I need one. YAY!! I am totally copying :)
December 16th, 2011I have been laughing ever since I saw your ‘blue bag’. I have the same one and it is in my diningroom: with fabric in it. ha ha…..I’m too embarassed to tell you why. Okeh, I’ll tell you. But whatever you do don’t tell anyone else. I was being criticized for spending $$$ on fabric, when I already ‘had fabric’. So, one day, when I had gathered up some fabric for a quilt for my Mom….I knew it would be….’remarked upon..for at least an entire evening’..so I decided that the Trader Joe’s pretty blue insulated bag would be great to ’store’ my fabric in til it was needed. So, my silliness made me laugh. A N D there was something else I wanted to tell you. I wanted to thankyou, seriously, for the referral of QUILTING FROM LITTLE THINGS. I have read it from front to back and I love it.
December 16th, 2011Lol! Too funny! I have that bag and love it!! Had 2 of them but left oranges in it over the summer( my son did and I didn’t know) well needless to say when I got around to using it…well it was one huge fuzzy black gooey science expirement! So it went in the trash. :( I no longer live near a trader joes and am soooo missing it and all of their cool bags. I will defentely be using your idea when I take my sewing machine anywhere. Hmmm wonder if my cricut would fit? lol
December 18th, 2011awesome. hoping to make it your way soon.
February 2nd, 2012Ha, I use a costco x-tra large freezer bag for my serger. I gotta say, I felt like a tool when I brought in for service, no more of a tool than when I brought my sewing machine in a old laundry basket.
