Day 5 - 5 or so Days of Holiday Happy
December 3rd, 2010
Welcome to Day 5 of my 5 or so Days of Holiday Happy - 5 or so days of celebrating Gnoma Claus from my Holiday Happy fabric.
Today is kind of a mish-mash of holiday fun stuff. My Gnoma Claus goodie today is a Firefox persona featuring Gnoma. If you don’t have Firefox, you can download it here.
If you’re running your Firefox browser and you want to dress it up with my Gnoma Claus persona - all you have to do is mouse-over the Gnoma graphic on my persona page and click “Wear It”. How easy is that! Here is Firefox’s FAQ if you have any questions/need help.
Some holiday sewy-quilty goodness… the 2010 Fat Quarterly Special Holiday Edition. I was honored to be asked to do a little review in it, and FQ so kindly sent me the issue. I was BLOWN AWAY by the content and the style. Mad crushing love for all things Fat Quarterly and the people behind it. The issues are PACKED full of goodness and the style is so crisp, clean, modern and fun. I’m going to subscribe to all of their issues. Genius.
I’m being featured right now on the Fat Quarterly Blog, and aside from being so giddy about that - in the post I mention my “Project Runway” inspiration quilt that’s in the 2010 Winter issue of Quilts & More…
My inspiration - Project Runway’s Season 7’s wall in their apartment. As soon as I saw the wooden wall adornment… I knew I had to make it into a quilt. (Yay Seth Aaron!)
Quilts & More Winter 2010 named my quilt/project “Rectangle Reverie”, but I call it Project Rectangle. Kits for Rectangle Reverie with my Holiday Happy fabric are available at The Material Girls Quilts, (one of my favorite quilt shops!). I just have to add… I still can’t believe Mondo didn’t win Season 8.
My dear friend Sarah of Anyone Can Quilt machine quilted it… AND she did so on her home sewing machine! Amazing. Sarah also took this beautiful photo. The girl can quilt AND take photos. And she can cook. If I didn’t love her so much I’d hate her (and I’d gnarl at her).
SuperDad aka QuiltDad John has ALREADY made my pattern and used Melissa’s gorgeous new Swoon to make it in. Sooo yummy! John’s beautiful photo of his beautiful quilt:
I love seeing what inspires people, and loved seeing (and was so wow’d by) Heather’s and John’s recent inspriation quilts… and of course I always love seeing what the Grande Dame of Inspiration makes!
I’ll give a little charm pack of Holiday Happy to one lucky commenter who answers the question of the day (or just leave a comment).
Q: What inspires you/has inspired you? Fabric? An object? A person? A place? An event?
EDITED IN 12/8/10:
Winner picked for this day has now been picked (by random.org), and is… comment #80 AnnieO of Annie’s Quilt Orts! Congratulations, Annie!

As always Monica, laughing out loud while reading your post. Thanks for the humor! My inspiration really is my Mom. Who is now the angel on my shoulder encouraging the inner artist in me. I’m with you on PR & Mondo. He should have won!!!!!
December 3rd, 2010I’m inspired by websites like yours, with more great projects than I could ever finish in my lifetime! Also I love magazines.
December 3rd, 2010hey mon, you look goood in yellow…hey, wouldn’t that be the perfect opportunity to convince lecien to bring your hh in flannel, too (or terry cloth)?? *lol* the suit reminds me a bit of the teletubbies :)
okay, what inspires me? humpf. dunno. am i inspired? i think i only ’steal’ ideas from others…even if it’s only nature :). i keep my eyes open for great patterns in my urban surroundings (after reading cherri’s book i just have to).
xoxo, julia
December 3rd, 2010So glad to have “discovered” you and your inspiring and uplifting blog! Quilt on!
December 3rd, 2010You always make me laugh. My inspiration has to be the many magazines and quilting books I read. I love them all. My mind races with so many ideas and what to do. Plus my quilt shop (www.quiltersharvestshop.com) inspires me everytime I walk in the door. Karen and her staff are super creative.
December 3rd, 2010Fabric definately inspires me. I love it and can’t seem to get enough! Also designers and the fantastic patterns they create - they definately inspire me.
December 3rd, 2010Yes, I laugh out loud when reading your blog also. I just got my fabric today and can hardly wait to start on a project (or two). I get my inspiration from going into quilt shops and magazines. Have a great weekend.
December 3rd, 2010My sister Cherri is a total inspiration. She’s jam packed full of ideas.
December 3rd, 2010Wow. That’s a really tough question… I’m not sure I could really put a finger on exactly what sorts of things inspire me… I do know that sometimes I just see a fabric (like yours. Have I told you yet how much I love it? I meant to.) that sends me off on flights of quilting fancy. Sometimes its books, magazines… Everything I see on your blog basically makes me drool… Um… I don’t really know what else to add. I always just figured inspiration will eventually walk up and smack me in the face. If I’m lucky… I never really stopped to think too much sbout it. Now that you mention it, that might be my problem… :)
December 3rd, 2010Lady you inspire me! You are a powerhouse and that is an awesome quilt design! Good eye.
December 3rd, 2010Traveling and reading magazines have always inspired me. I love looking at things wondering how could I make that? Now, crafty blogs are where I look for inspiration. Too many ideas, sew little time.
December 3rd, 2010Thank you for the wonderful 5 or so days.
Looking at beautiful fabric, magazine and everyone’s blogs inspire me now. Originally it was a friends mother who was always making quilts.
December 3rd, 2010Thank you for the Gnoma Claus persona Monica! Cute!
December 3rd, 2010I wish I could say that the flowers and beaches inspire me, but I frankly get the most inspiration from blogs and Flickr! Or sometimes just a new line of fabric. So glad you clued us in on your PR inspiration-I was really curious! And I can’t believe Mondo didn’t win either!
December 3rd, 2010Blogland inspires me. Ya’ll are so creative.
December 3rd, 2010DIFFERING THINGS INSPIRE ME:
December 3rd, 2010NEW FABRIC DESIGNS
NEW COLOR COMBOS (like “HOLIDAY HAPPY”, who’d ever choose pink+aqua for Chrismtas?)
QUILT BLOGS
QUILT MAGAZINES
THANKS SO FOR SHARING!
hiyall,
December 3rd, 2010what inspires me? Blogs, designers like you, quilt shops, hell…even the tiles in the bathrooms of places inspire me. Once I looked at the soles of a pair of sandles. What did I see? apple cores! that inspired me to make a mini apple core quilt. won a 3rd place ribbon at the lcoal county fair! (mauh) Liz
Love to read your blog! So funny! The Project Rectangle Quilt is fabulous. The solid framing makes the prints pop like Rice Krispies. I must say, the Jan Brady photo scares me a bit. Keep doing what you do, Zombie Queen!
December 3rd, 2010I definitely find a lot (most of my) inspiration from other bloggers/crafters. I feel like I’m only creative when given other people’s ideas.
Thanks for the chance!
December 3rd, 2010Love your blog!
December 3rd, 2010I find a lot of inspiration off of blogs and Flickr. There’s a lot of fabric that as soon as I see it I know exactly what pattern to use.
Thanks for the chance to win!
All of the blogs I follow provide oodles of inspiration for me. I also like to search flickr if I’m interested in something specific.
December 3rd, 2010Fabric always inspires - and my love of the fabric is directly proportional to my inability to find a way to use it (too many ideas swirling around in my head, lol!) :)
December 3rd, 2010I had no idea you could do that with firefox! I’m gnomafied now!
Lots of things inspire me, objects, colors, toys, fabric, a design, floors, etc etc.
December 3rd, 2010The answer to your question is yes, and that last picture is a riot!
December 3rd, 2010You look like you belong in a Snuggie commercial :) Vintage items inspire me - mostly old linens & quilts.
December 3rd, 2010Material Girls has been my favorite quilt shop since I discovered it a couple years ago. it is always trouble (for me) when i go though. everything they have is so cute. i wish i could buy the store up!
December 3rd, 2010i am so so glad they carry your line. even though i’ve already bought it, i still have to look at it everytime i go in.
i am inspired by the person i am making the quilt for. each of us in unique, and quilts should be too.
Lots of things inspire me. I am a digital scrapbook designer and I love nature as an inspiration! Other things that inspire me are home decoratingbooks, children’s clothes, quilts and advertisements. As a matter of fact, even your Holiday Happy line has inspired me to make digital scrap kit with those colors!
December 3rd, 2010I’m inspired by lots of things. I love finding fun colour inspirations in everyday places. This is my last chance to win! fingers crossed!!!!
December 3rd, 2010Oh, I love project rectangle. That mag is going on my to-get list! My inspiration? Everything! I try to always be paying attention to design details from tiles to textiles. Love reading blogs and magazines too.
December 3rd, 2010Mondo, what was up with him not winning, really!!!
December 3rd, 2010I am inspired by others quilters and what they make, I think maybe I could make something like that??!!
I love your Project Rectangle quilt. It looks great. I get inspired when I see what other people are making.
December 3rd, 2010Right now I seem to get most of my inspiration from old quilts so I’m super-duper excited to go to the American Folk Art Museum quilt exhibit next week. Squeeee!! (As for Mondo, ooh, that was so frustrating!)
December 3rd, 2010Great question, Jan….(wink). I think fabric really inspires me and lots of blogs. Happy holidays!
December 3rd, 2010Good grief, woman, you are so funny! whenever I see your blog in bold on my google reader I make sure I have nothing in my mouth so I don’t choke or snort LOL
Inspiration come mostly from things…just like that wooden trellis thing you’ve featured, I would immediately sketch/photograph that as well. I recently took a photo of the upholstery of the local pizzaparlor booth. crusty cheese and all.
December 3rd, 2010LOVE that new doo and the cozy yellow feety jammies! Hmmmmm….. my inspiration is usually music ….and movies …. not the new stuff …. usually the older stuff from the ’40’s -> 60’s …… oh, and coloring books and colored pencils …..
December 3rd, 2010The best inspiration for me is all of you awesome quilters online. You all have much more experience than I do in picking fabrics that go so well together. And then like you with the experienced ‘eye’ for things just like you showed above with you designing a quilt based on wood you viewed on a tv show. I just don’t have that kind of imaginiation although I wish I did. I’ll be happy being able to follow in your footsteps however. :)
YES Fat Quarterly is the next thing I am going to be subscribing to as soon as my next disability check arrives. I’ve been dying to subscribe but haven’t been able to afford it yet. I cannot wait because from what I have seen it looks like an awesome ‘magazine’.
You look mighty nice in your Jan Brady jammies. Just so very sessy. Woohoo
December 3rd, 2010I get inspired by what I see on blogs these days. The internet is a wonderful resource. Kathie L in Allentown
December 3rd, 2010im inspired by the blogs i read, the flickr pages i troll and nature.
December 3rd, 2010I’m inspired by color. A certain color can inspire me to think of a shape, design, or even a certain feeling. Have a wonderful weekend! Going to try your Firefox thingy.
December 3rd, 2010keeping warm, I see…hilarious!
December 3rd, 2010My inspiration comes from feeling the fabrics in a quilt shop–the nicer they feel, the more I want to figure out what I can do with them.
I am inspired mostly by my kids. Most of what I make is for them so I have to make something they will like. I love Material Girls quilt shop too! I used to live near them and bought stuff there all the time but alas my husband got a job offer in California so we are back here now. I sure do miss Utah though!
December 3rd, 2010I’m mostly inspired by nature, but really see things everytwhere, ene on TV like your PR quilt! Love it - and I love how it looks inHoliday Happy. Thanks for the chance to win, and for another laugh.
December 3rd, 2010Definitely fabric! Nothing like a quilt magazine to get my creative juices flowing.
December 3rd, 2010Thanks so much for the Gnome persona. This is so cool!
December 3rd, 2010What inspires me? Great question. Since I am still learning…everything. Color, pattern, fabric, magazines, blogs, web sites. Wow, just about anything with pictures. I just bought the Better Homes and Garden magazine and love it.
December 3rd, 2010Currently I’m working on 3 quilts, 2 inspired by paintings and 1 by petroglyphs.
December 3rd, 2010Most of my inspiration comes from my mother and the wonderful flowers and plants that she grows. She is an encourager and I’m fortunate to live with her (she is 80 years young). Thanks for the “to be day 6″….
December 3rd, 2010I’m sorry to say I am not gifted and talented like yourself. I’m inspired by the awesome designers like yourself…from the countless blog sites I follow and from the great quilting magazines and books. I can spend countless hours reading blogs and magazines. My BFF Mama Spark is also a great inspiration to me. If I win I’d share it with Mama Spark. She loves Holiday Happy too. Thanks for the chance:)
December 3rd, 2010I make quilts for others, and usually the giftee provides the inspiration. If it’s a charity quilt, I consider what little girls like, what combination is good for a QOV. And sometimes inspiration comes from friends and fabrics…
December 3rd, 2010I get inspiration from friends, blogs, you, floors, walls, patterns I see everywhere … Thank you for the giveaway!
December 3rd, 2010My inspiration comes from web sites like yours. I can not do anything on my own so I just follow the instructions of someone else. I am kinda new at this so I need all the help I can get.
December 3rd, 2010I love the Gnoma Claus persona. I am wearing mine right now. Thank you so much! pam
FOOTIE JAMMIES!!! I SOOOO want those! I had a pink pair just like those when I was just about Jan Brady’s age — you’re rockin’ the photo. And the quilt patterns — that pattern is FANTASTIC — I Love it!!! As for what inspires me? The WIVES, obvi!!!
December 3rd, 2010Hi there, to answer the question of the day: I am inspired by the beautiful fabrics that I am blessed to have. I believe each fabric is meant to be turned into something special and if I listen closely, it will let me know what that is. :)
December 3rd, 2010What inspires me?? pay day for starters! LOL Talented peoples blog, I am always blown away at how clever people are.. I love this quilt pattern, and your inspiration was a wall adornment? why can’t I think of these things! LOL
Lissa
December 3rd, 2010Australia
I get inspired by just pulling fabric out and rearranging and playing with it.
December 3rd, 2010Right now I’m mainly inspired by the blogs that I follow (yours included) and my wish is for more time for quilting!
December 3rd, 2010Laura T
I’m inspired by fabric, blogs, magazines, books…..just not enough time in my days!
December 3rd, 2010You are seriously the best!!! I am in love with your Project Rectangle quilt and can’t wait to make one of my own. So excited to share the day at WWC with you tomorrow!
xoxoxo,
December 3rd, 2010Heather
You are so funny! I always love reading your blog. I am inspired by all the creativity I see on blogs, colors and I am always looking at my surroundings for ideas for quilts.
December 3rd, 2010Really love your quilt and the quiltdad version too. I am inspired by things around me…recently have taken pictures of carpet in two hotels for inspiration. I love to look around for it when travelling and take lots of funny pictures when I am seeing the sights!
December 3rd, 2010I’m inspired by all of the great projects I see on these blogs.
December 3rd, 2010I am inspired by all of the blogs I follow! Thanks for the chance to win.
December 3rd, 2010Since I have discovered blogs my quilting style has changed radically, I’ve gotten twice as much done and I have laughed until I wet my pants…(oops can you say that on the internet? a different kind of Wiki LEAKS I guess)
December 3rd, 2010The internet is an incredible source of inspiration…unfortunately, sometimes I am so inspired I can’t drag myself away to work on my own stuff…I just want to keep reading blogs and looking at all the great pix of what everyone is creating.
December 3rd, 2010Well, let’s see. I’m often inspired by the fabric. I am drawn to certain fabrics without quite knowing what to do with it. It sits around for awhile until an idea comes to mind. Thanks for the give away chance.
December 3rd, 2010I am inspired all the time by the projects I see on blogs, in magazines and books. Sometimes I’m inspired by a need to do something new. Organizing my sewing room inspires me because I remember all the stuff I have and think of things to do with it.
December 3rd, 2010I get inspired by too many things, so I have all these ideas running around and now I need to take the time to sit down and play for awhile. I am inspired by fabrics though, have different types and I like to look at them and think what they would look good in.
Debbie
December 3rd, 2010I’m inspired by all the beautiful patterns I come across online and in print. I’ll see a pattern I like, and i’ll change it up to make it mine. A lot of the time I just wing it, and hope for the best.
December 3rd, 2010I’d love to be able to design my own patterns, but I’m just not brave enough for that. Maybe one day when I grow up! :)
I love your Rectangle Reverie. I am inspired by quilt bloggers. There is no end to their creativity and I hope I can catch some of it from them.
December 3rd, 2010I am inspired by quilt blogs and by looking at wonderful fabric in the LQS and on the internet…especially YOUR fabric!
December 3rd, 2010My misspent youth inspires me! :)
December 3rd, 2010Spring. Flowers bursting forth in all their beauty after months of long cold dreariness. How can that not inspire anyone??
Hugs,
December 3rd, 2010Gina
I tend to be most inspired by seasons and life events.
December 3rd, 2010Anything retro, pink, aqua or yellow and all Christmas pre 1970’s. I love it all and am inspired by it daily!
December 3rd, 2010I think sometimes it’s just a random thing, something I see or something that I love (sunflowers). Sometimes it’s the fabric. Ooh I love fabric!
December 3rd, 2010My grandmother inspired me the most. From picking up quilting to choosing my career path, she has always been there.
My grandma was one of two sisters left that quilted in my family. She taught me, and now I am the only one in the family that carries the tradition on.
My grandma was also the reason why I became a massage therapist. She had slipped on the ice one winter and had broken her shoulder and opposite knee. It was a physical therapist that specialized in massage therapy that helped my grandma be able to walk and use her shoulder again. I wanted to be able to do things like that, and it set me on my path.
She is also an inspiration for strength when everything seems lost. She survived cancer, not once, but twice. She passed away 3 years ago, but she still inspires me to this day.
December 3rd, 2010I am inspired by architecture and architectural elements, especially tile, brickwork, the play of shape and color against each other.
I am motivated by the many, many, many people for whom I want to make quilts. I’d best stay busy if I am going to gift everyone at least once.
December 3rd, 2010I’m torn between inspiration and intimidation. I love reading blogs like yours and seeing new fabrics and real quilts in shops. I love magazines where I can rip off other peoples’ ideas. I’m not really very creative, I guess. That was a great interview you did on Fat Quarterly.
December 3rd, 2010My mom is the inspiration for me and my daughter. She sews so beautifully and has a great eye for color. I see lots of things i want to try, but I only have the courage because i know I can count on her to make it right.
December 3rd, 2010Oh, Jan, I made some yellow footie pajamas just like that when I was in 8th grade! Thank goodness I had better hair :)
I am inspired by designers like you who share your great pattern ideas for we quilters to use as jumping off points with our favorite colors and fabrics to twist and make our own. Thanks for sharing your brain cells!!!
December 3rd, 2010I can be driving down the road and be inspired here in New Mexico usually when I have no ability to write my ideas down of course…ah well we can’t all be Marsha now can we?!
December 4th, 2010what on EARTH is that picture? I want my head on that picture, like RIGHT NOW.
Anyhooooooo. Thank you for the FQ lurving. Lurve you too (like you know that already)
What inspires me? Oh crap. I dunno. I get very excited by tile and brickwork and will take photos of it a lot. Too much.
December 4th, 2010I love to start my day off laughing! thank you - I am inspired by random things - can be at the grocery store or out on a walk with my dog! thanks for the lively blog -love the fabric!
December 4th, 2010Love the photo!
December 4th, 2010Always inspired primarily by my wonderful family
Gill
Wow! Thank you, Monica, for giving us a feast of goodies to wrap up your Five or So Days of Holiday Happy!
My inspiration might be similar to yours. I found myself sketching the floor tile pattern at the hospital and drawing the background wall pattern on a local tv show. I guess quilters do that?
I understand your quest to cook well - I make great oatmeal, but that’s about it. I saw something on Hungry Girl you might like to ask Santa for this year - Matryoshka Doll Measuring Cups! I believe they’re from Anthropologie and think they’d be so cute in your kitchen.
Can’t wait to get started on all the holiday projects you’ve taught us and all the goodies on the Christmas links you provided!
How cute are you in your jammies?!? You share the best pictures!
December 4th, 2010I love to be inspired by fabric. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is to browse through fabric stores, feeling each bolt of fabric and knowing just the perfect thing to make from it.
December 4th, 2010I love the internet and all the inspiration there. Blogs are great and I recently started keeping up better with mine. Quilts and fabric inspire me the most. I’m gong to try my hand at designing next year.
December 4th, 2010My little girl inspires me. She gets so tickled when I make her something. She is always so happy when I give her something I have made, ie. baby clothes for her dolls, small quilts for her barbies, I made her a pink poka dot apron for her to wear while helping in the kitchen. It is always more rewarding for me, I guess it is my luxury to get to feel so good about giving her somthing so small and easy and seeing the enjoyment in her eyes ! I watch her play pretend and take scraps and tie and fold them together to make things that she can play with. I got my Singer 15-91 about 4 months ago, and she has been chomping at the bit to learn how to use it. Last weekend she got her first lesson, quilt strips for a denim quilt for her baby dolls. She was so proud of herself. It really tickled me.
December 4th, 2010I think I am inspired by so many things–fabrics, quilt magazines, meeting with other quilters. I love to look through old magazines and books and invision what a design would look like with different fabrics or borders, etc. And I am inspired by you and other bloggers–there are so many creative people in the blogoshpere!
December 4th, 2010Karen in Breezy Point
Everything seems to have the ability to inspire me. Funny, I’ve made two quilts now because I saw a wall on a show and said that would make a quilt. Thanks for my cute Firefox.
December 4th, 2010Mainly inspired for my flickr friends (including you), sometimes by magazines and with the lovely tiny things of my life (sunny day, birds, park nearby home, cats…).
December 4th, 2010Thank you so much for this chance to win. Your works are lovely! :D
Oh, I am so inspired by the talent of others such as yourself and of course the wonderful, glorious fabrics available. So mamy projects, so little time. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.!!
December 4th, 2010My Mom was always my biggest inspiration and my biggest fan.
December 4th, 2010Love your Holiday Happy soooo much.
I LOVE, LOVE your website!
December 4th, 2010I am inspired by something that will jog a long lost memory from childhood… and of course colors and patterns.
One recollection of days gone can tell a wonderful new story.
WHERE did you get that picture of me in my yellow jammies? I swear I have that same one!
December 4th, 2010love your fabric & ppl in my life are my inspiration
December 4th, 2010I’m typically inspired by “things that should be quilts”. I have a file of pictures on my computer and they are pretty much random pictures of floors, tiles, buildings, etc. When I’m lagging behind on a family outing my sweet hubby now automatically knows that I’m probably taking a picture for my inspiration file…
Jennifer :)
December 4th, 2010That awkward yourself is awesome!
I can’t pin down one thing that inspires me. I never know what will compel me to create. A word, a picture, a scene, a carpet, a hotel ballroom, my kids, even boredom. The problem is finding the time to translate it all!
December 4th, 2010I can get inspiration from a variety of sources. I love looking at blog pics. Magazines are another great source of inspiration.
December 4th, 2010Oh all of those things inspire me at different times! And pretty little blogs are quite the inspiration too! I wanted Mono too (He was robbed) I love the quilt!
December 4th, 2010The materials I use inspire me – gorgeous fabric, or hand-dyed yarn, just give me so many ideas of what I want to make with them!
December 4th, 2010I am inspired by the women in my sewing group who make it look easy!
December 4th, 2010I don’t think just one thing inspires me….I can be wandering along and wham it hits me! So I just need to be open to all sorts of suggestions!
December 4th, 2010Monica, I loved your Christmas Traditions over on WWC. It sounds like you had a wonderful family.
December 4th, 2010What inspires me? My family, color, tradition, vintage pretties, other creatives, you and Mary Engelbreit.
I can’t wait until my new house is all settled and I can get back to creating!!
Happy Christmas!
I am inspired by colors and shapes all around me. And by the ideas of others in blogland!
December 4th, 2010I am having so much fun making those little bags. I just made 25 for my homeroom and tonight I finished 14 for a cookie exchange. I am putting my cookies in the bags. Thank you for the chart so I can make all sizes. Love the yellow pj’s
December 4th, 2010You know I LOVE that quilt! You’re lucky I didn’t accidentally keep it. And when I say accidentally I mean totally on purpose. I must go now, I need to print out a nice 8×10 glossy of a sweet gal in her yellow jammies. You KILL me!!! xoxokmamf
December 4th, 2010Tough one! I find inspiration in other blogs and let’s not pretend that there is only one source that inspiration can come from, it really is everywhere.
December 4th, 2010But I really love to geometric shapes and when I see something that should be a quilt, I just scribble it down(because I suck at drawing). A year later I pull out little notes from my bags that read “tree through the seasons” or “big building by the lake” or just “forest”. I normally have no idea what I meant but figuring out what I meant and then sewing it up is also a lot of fun!
Your blog is such fun and inspiration! Great quilt and I thought Mondo should have won also! Lisa in Texas
December 4th, 2010Look at you in the feeties! :-) I’ve got you on my firefox browser now, thanks! Your quilt is awesome, I love how Sarah quilted it too and your inpsiration is so cool! What inspires me? Usually reading blogs like yours, no joke!
December 4th, 2010I’m inspired by beautiful fabric. It all sucks me in!
December 4th, 2010I love coming to read your blog. Absolutely love your sense of humor!!! Those cute photoshop pictures you post are so much fun!!!
December 4th, 2010I’m a fabric girl… most fabrics seem to “know” what they should be turned in to and then tell me. (Or maybe I am just hearing voices and I should be worried… hmmmm…)
December 4th, 2010Usually the fabric, but sometimes a pattern or object is somewhere to start.
December 5th, 2010Next to you :o), fabric inspires me and just being around others who have a love of creating. I love meeting new, creative people. Thanks for all of this fun 5 days of Holiday Happy, Monica!!
December 5th, 2010I get inspired everyday but lot’s of things. I love seeing the smiles on people’s faces when I hand them something I have made. I love that my children want nothing else on their bed’s but the quilt’s I have made. And my son has asked for a new one and I am thinking about the PR design that you have in the magazine (that I just picked up because of that quilt). I also find that by reading my favorite blogs like yours helps me create.
December 5th, 2010Hello! What inspires me is my children and seeing the fabulous things they can do! Craft-wise, I love getting ideas from the great craft bloggers (like yourself) that take the time to post their ideas on the internet and from magazines! Oh, to only have the time to just craft……. :)Thanks!

December 5th, 2010I tend to be inspired by the person whom I am making the quilt for. I try to find a pattern and colors that they will hopefully like. However, I usually have no idea what the quilt is going to look like until it is done. It is always a surprise … how fun is that. :-)
