Bon Appétit
January 4th, 2007
I love Bonne Maman jam. Like getting a free toy inside, I buy this jam because of the jar. Oh I guess for the jam too, it really is yummy. I must have two dozen of these jars, all holding some sort of treasured gem, buttons, address labels, safety pins, tea bags, sugar cubes, postage stamps, m&m’s, thimbles, embroidery floss, paper clips, yada, yada, yada. If it were not for Bonne Maman, I’d be totally without any organization what so ever (and my toast and waffles would be dry).
I almost always buy the strawberry because it has a red lid. What… you’d like a peanut butter and blackberry sandwich??? Here… enjoy a strawberry PB&J. Actually, I’ve tried all the flavors and they are all yummy and taste like Aunt Ethel’s been canning in her farmhouse kitchen.

Uh, now I have to go buy a thousand things of jam. Seriously, you’re killing me with this. I’ve been thinking about the jam jars since I saw Allsorts and her jam-lid collection, but I rarely have toast and hate peanut butter. I was wondering how I would manage to acquire enough jam jars with my minimal jam eating capabilities. I don’t want to just throw it away. Crap.
January 5th, 2007And I’m not too happy about that bee either. I ALSO have a little bee thing going and dammit I gave mine like this away. You know I’m not going to be able to find another one now. Double crap.
January 5th, 2007Hey PKM, I have a kid who eats PB&J for lunch EVERY DAY at school. I would send you jars by the dozen, but unfortunately, I probably couldn’t find that jam here in this tiny town (but now I’m gonna look)! I personally use my Colonial Candle jars for everything…I love the oval-y shape. :)
January 5th, 2007I LOVE Bonne Maman jam, it’s my favorite! My favorite flavor is the sour cherry though. I would be in heaven if I could make my own sour cherry jam that tasted exactly like theirs.
When Philip and I went to Paris they served the most amazing croissants in the morning with teeny tiny jars of Bonne Maman jam. Oh my god, they were so cute!
But I almost never save my jam jars.
January 5th, 2007Heh… I have a collection of jam jars I use for water glasses. They are getting harder to come by, since I don’t think they are made anymore–I’ve always managed to score them at thrift stores.
I hope you are feeling better. We should meet for coffee, at least, soon. M’kay.
January 6th, 2007How cool are those? Well since Davey is the only jam eater here, he is in store for those goodies..those jars fit my room to a tee!
January 6th, 2007Cindy… do you have a Safeway? That’s where I get mine.
Angelina… I have some of those little jars (you can kinda see one in the pic). I got my little ones at Cost Plus ( I MUCH rather I had found them in Paris, sigh), but I’ve yet to see them again there.
Wende… coffee… oh yes! Once my cold is gone… I’m still a sneezin’ and a coughin’!
January 7th, 2007Pam… more jam joy… I use the apricot jam and shoyu (soy sauce) to make the best teri baked chicken. 1 part jam, 1 part shoyu. Bake. Done. Serve with rice. Eat.
January 7th, 2007I have to admit part of the reason I buy it is for the jar too. For some reason I think that the different flavors all have the same lids where I get it. I will have to pay attention next time…
January 8th, 2007Vaxgirl… goof on my part how I wrote that. All the lids are the same sans the blackberry. If that’s even how I remember it. I suffer from a huge case of Brain Fartitis.
