Funkytown

December 28th, 2006

Merry Belated Christmas! Normal is slowly coming back to Casa de Zombie. My folks headed back home to Walnut Creek the Day After and I headed into a funk. Not even the Macy*s ad cheered me up. Five days of eating, lounging, laughing and then be thrust back into to-do’s and must-do’s (aka adulthood)… bummer. What’s a girl to do… go shopping! Oh no, not clothes… not shoes… but cheese! We took a trip to The World’s Largest Costco (Hillsboro, OR) and I loaded up on cheese, cheese, & cheese and we topped it off with a trip to Red Robin (mmmmm… Bonzai Burgers and endless fries!).

So much to blog about, so many photos to take and show… but that’s going to have to wait. I miss my daily bloggy visits, but I see it just around the corner (ahem… when DS goes back to school and DH goes back to work!).

Happy New Year my bloggy friends!

UPDATE: A (swiped) sample of my new door, just for you PKM! Please don’t be pea green with envy, as my door is going to be black (BTW… I recolored the photo pea green just for you PKM)! In the glass part it’s the black do-hickey thingamagig stuff… made too look like wrought iron. It was love at first sight.

No crowds in Costco either! It was spooky. Was there an evacuation notice we didn’t know about??? The only crowd at Costco was at the snack bar… which was a major bummer because I wanted a Twisted Churro (double the price, double the calories, double the Churrolishousness!)

Hey, I have an idea….let’s not grow up! :) Let’s move into IKEA with all our cool friends and just have fun every day! :) We could rearrange the furniture and stuff.

Yeah, I could go for some not growing up myself. But I’m pea green with envy about the new door. And the husband home to get some stuff done. My poor sick husband is working his butt off, not getting home till after 9:30 each night!

Cheese. What’s not to love. Was Costco scary? Tons of people?

Hey! I hope you’re still planning on coffee this afternoon in town at 3??? :D I’d love to see you!

Ooooo, I like the door! My honey is framing the door we got put in this summer. Gotta love military housing…nothing is done right. Oh, and I’m feeling a little pea green envyness about not getting to go to coffee with you chickees, but maybe someday! And Tillamook cheese rocks compared to Wisconsin cheese. It’s totally over-rated.

Ahh I’d have had coffee too. Or even met up at Costco if I knew it was empty. I”m almost tempted to go to mine just to check. I like the new door, very cool.

CL and PKM… please don’t be pea green with envy. Just pee.

CL… I’ve never had WisCONsin cheese, but of course have had Tillamook. I may get kicked out of Oregon and sent back to California for saying this… but I think California cheese is far superior and the best cheese made in America! (Sniff, sniff, sniff… what’s that smell? Must be the angry mob of my neighbors lighting their torches) . Though I do like Tillamook for Cheddar. Sorry about your door. Gotta love the government for those low bid crappy products they buy. Not. Come over and enjoy my door, K! No government cooties on it either.

I had to pass on the Blogger Coffee Gig today (bummer). But I am planning on doing a lunch sometime next week.

Pam… did you go to Costco? Watch… you go and everyone in Alameda, Contra Costa, Ess Eff, Santa Clara and Marin county will be at your Costco.

  7. The fabulous Wendewww.evidently.org allegedly said:

Um, not Marin, Monica… Mariners go to the Novato Costco. The Danville Costco still has the best stuff, tho–even if it is small. :D

    And Yeah!! Lunch. :D

Oh! Hey… when will your new door be up? I’ll conveniently take Miss Sophie for a walk down your street to admire. :D

(and I should have probably noted in that last comment that I’m a former resident of both Marin (San Anselmo) and Contra Costa (Dublin) Counties. :D In fact, if you’ve ever been in Towne Center Books in Pleasanton, you’d be in my old bookstore. :Dw

Hey Wende! Our new door got neglected yesterday… but our current ordinary white bread door is still knockable! DH got a dive call yesterday when he was in the middle of cleaning the garage, so the door has to wait.

I didn’t know you lived in the Bay Area! I used to shop at an indie book store in Walnut Creek… Bonanza St. Books (I don’t even know if they are still in business). Bummer I’ve never been in your store!

OH! I’ve been to Town Center Books! Wow lots of people from this area have moved..

I was at the Costco in Hillsboro in Jan. With my son and his fiance. We had hot dogs at the snack bar and we were joking that maybe we could have them cater the reception. LOL Is it really the biggest? I read it in a blog - must be true!

Farting around with needle & thread and then blogging about it.
