It finally feels like Summer…
June 20th, 2012
… well, at least in the produce aisle.
It has been a wet, dark, mucky and gloomy Winter Summer so far here in the Pacific Northwest. The good side of that, is that little things like berries and the occasional sunny days are all the more magnificent. Reminding myself that our Summer is not ¾ empty, but it’s ¼ full. And that ¾ is the perfect time to go quilt something. Reminding myself. Reminding myself. Reminding my… SQUIRREL!!!

Would gladly swap our 95+ for your cool and gloomy. The only upside I can see to our hot weather is that my fat tomatoes on the vine will finally start to turn red!
June 20th, 2012The summer certainly comes in spurts here. Today it’s summer up in Seattle (yay!) but I hear that we will be returning to our regularly scheduled winter programing soon. ;) Some variety is good, right?
June 20th, 2012You should start counting summer the way we do in Canada - it started today, with the summer solstice, so there is 100% of summer left! Like you, I live on the Wet Coast and here in BC, we have had the same gloomy weather, but today dawned beautifully. Now we just have to worry about flooding.
June 20th, 2012Jenelle and Terri - we’re all in the same glorious PNW boat today! Hugs and sunshine! I like both your ways of thinking!
June 20th, 2012enjoy every little bite of sunshine in that mouth-watering bowl of berries! yum! who needs sun in the PNW when they have YOU? xok
June 20th, 201299 degrees in NH today. 99 degrees and NH do not belong together.
June 20th, 2012I’m in your neck of the neighborhood this week. :) this sunshine is glorious! I don’t want it to go away.
June 20th, 2012Yummy berries!! Blueberries and ripe cantaloupe is a great combo too!! Happy Summer finally!
June 20th, 2012As I was reading your blog, the Today Show was interruped for a “Severe Weather Update.” We’re having a heat wave and temperatures will be near 100 degrees today.
It’s important to check on the older members of our families and friends too — make sure they’re okay and hydrated.
Well…. 100 degrees? Isn’t that what summer is for? When it’s -10 degrees in February, maybe we can remember some of today’s heat?
June 21st, 2012It was a glorious day yesterday and I think we’re having another today! I’ve got all my windows open and I don’t even have my robe on!

June 21st, 2012We are deep into June Gloom here in SoCalif and they are expecting it to last clear into August. Well, at least we don’t have to have air conditioning and can even wear pretty scarves and favorite jeans in the summer…
Squirrel! Nice and brown and bearing gifts FOR YOU. What could be better.
June 21st, 2012I get excited about my UPS guy too! Not only because he’s bringing me fabric ;)
