Thank you everyone for your kinds words (and making me hungry for candy!) and playing along with Lori and me. I got a lot of comments about the Botan Rice Candy, and I don’t know if this is a West Coast thing - but you can find it in the Asian section of your local grocery store. Even in my teenie little Scandinavian town of Astoria - I can find it at my local Safeway and Fred Meyer. Oh Lewis & Clark, you came 200 years too soon and missed out.

I can not believe I won, I never win. I am so super excited. I made one of the bags on Saturday and my sister is coming over tomorrow to make one for her daughter. I am so happy I think I am going to start dancing. :)

February 22nd, 2012I’m originally a couple hours south of you on the Oregon coast, but funnily enough, I’m now living in one of the Nordic countries (Finland doesn’t qualify as part of Scandinavia).
You lucky girl - congrats! Right now I’m so late on getting my mochi I’m scrounging all over for it - gotta use it for those lunch totes :)

February 22nd, 2012that japanese candy brings back memories. bought to eat and for kids 40 years ago on kauai…the prizes used to be amazing, just like the old cracker jack ones. wish i had that old jar of them…dont know what happened to them. congrats on another paper in the mag and new fabric line
