Bloggers’ Quilt Festival
November 2nd, 2011
I love when the Bloggers’ Quilt Festival rolls around - a great time to see and to share! Sometimes when I’m making something I really like, I’ll think, hmm - I think this is gonna be my next BQF quilt… like it’s sponge worthy, or something. So here is my spongie little quilt that I entered into the PMQG mug rug swap - my “Sipping the Mug Rug Kool-aid” quilt:
My favorite thing about making a mug rug is the making of the mug rug.
My other favorite thing about making a mug rug is finishing it. Instant gratification crack.
I just decided I’m long over due to treat myself to some mug rug making crack, so I’m off to get high. Happy Festival hopping!

November 2nd, 2011i can’t believe how many times you said “mug rug” in that post… you must be gulping that Kool-Aid :D
November 2nd, 2011I love the color combo and the zig zags!
November 2nd, 2011Those colours just make my heart sing, they are the colours of ice blocks we used to lick in the summer wearing our terry toweling sunhats. Oh the 70s!!
November 2nd, 2011That mug rug is definitely “sponge worthy!” You crack me up.
November 2nd, 2011Adorable! Instant gratification is always good, especially when you’re high :)…
November 2nd, 2011Very cool! I’d guess you are one of the few people who use quilt and sponge-worthy in the same sentence!
November 2nd, 2011I’ve yet to taste the mug rug kool-aid. I know I won’t hold out much longer tho’.

Such a great color combo - plus the hand-stitching really rocks. It’s so happy! Of course, I would expect nothing less. :-)

November 2nd, 2011Adorable!! No glass of kool-aid would ever perch on that mugrug in my house. It’d go straight onto the wall!
November 2nd, 2011I love this little rug and I LOVE that you called it sponge worthy. Hee hee.
The colors are so pretty and fresh and the quilting adds a great texture.
November 2nd, 2011I really like that color combination… it’s unexpected (at least for me) and fun!
November 2nd, 2011Good Grief!!! You are so funny and I love that I ‘get it’. Sponge Worthy, indeed. I had to miss the Jerry Seinfeld shows because of the demanding job I had..but somehow I saw that one….and the ’spare a square’ one…and the ‘junior mint’ one….and my Mom and daughter and I have had more fun with those lines…over the years..but I haven’t heard them for awhile…til tonight! I love you..and you need to know that you make us laugh our heads off.
November 2nd, 2011So, thankyou for the mug rug…and entertainment. Also: Isn’t it funny how we all drank KoolAid as children and survived…but when it came to my child..I fixed it for her one time….that’s all it took. As I watch all of that sugar pouring into the pitcher…I said, ‘I just can’t do this’. ha ha ha
Love the colors so much!
November 2nd, 2011Love the stitching! Is that by hand? It must be right? But it looks so neat!
November 3rd, 2011I love the repro prints & the zig zags! What weight of thread did you use for the stitching - it looks yummy!
