O’Magically Delicious
March 17th, 2011
Why is it that every time March 17th rolls around, all I want to do is verbally accost strangers with a: “It’s manly, yes… but I like it too” and “Always after me Lucky Charms - they’re magically delicious!“? I guess it’s my way of punching people who aren’t wearing green.
This year my good friend Pat Sloan has made it easier for me to expand my verbal répertoire with a copy of her Tour Ireland With Pat Sloan book from Leisure Arts.
It’s more than a quilt book - it’s a beautiful tour of Ireland. Pat makes you feel like you’re actually there, and gives you a beautiful glimpse of Irish life and scenery (except that how dare she didn’t take you and left you stuck at home vacuuming and cleaning stale Cherrio’s out of cracks in your car’s seats). I’ve never been to Ireland - unless you count the one time when I was 12 and we stopped for refueling at Dublin’s airport… and Pat’s book is like going there without having to take a long flight!
Want a copy for yourself?? Hop on the Tour Ireland blog tour! Leisure Arts is generously going to give TWO lucky commenters each a copy of Tour Ireland With Pat Sloan from each one of the blogs on the tour:
Canton Village Quilt Works - Jackie Kunkel
Crazy Mom Quilts - Amanda Jean Nyberg
Happy Zombie - Monica Solorio-Snow
House of A La Mode - Heather Bostic
Leisure Arts - Cheryl Johnson
Let’s Sew! - Pat Sloan
Mrs. Schmenkman Quilts - Amy Lobsiger
Pam Kitty Morning - Pam Vieira-McGinnis
Please leave a comment by 11:59pm PST this Saturday, March 19th. I’ll have random.org draw two names and announce the winners from my blog here on Sunday morning. And by morning I mean around noon.
Edited in:
Apparently one is supposed to pinch - not punch. This is what happens when a post is drafted while watching Sons of Anarchy.
The winners!
Pat will announce all the winners from all the blogs - on to her blog early this week. Keep an eye on Pat’s blog!

Lucky Charms! Love your blog. Need that taste of Ireland.
March 18th, 2011It is “punch” not “pinch” when you have two brothers. I don’t know why I wasn’t invited to Ireland on this trip. I’ll hold out for the next trip/quilt book. Will there be a drawing for that??
March 18th, 2011I could see where Sons of Anarchy would do that to you. LOL. Yes - How dare Pat leave us all at home…

March 18th, 2011Would have posted sooner..but the Jamieson’s Irish Whiskey kept me busy yesterday. My Granny (Mother’s side) was born in Belfast and other Gram’s parents were from County Cork. Then, first grandchild on either side (my oldest sister) was born on St Paddy’s Day…talk about the luck of the Irish in my heritage!!!

March 18th, 2011I love green but I totally forgot to wear it. I am 1/4 Irish and my 2yo was born on St Patrick’s day so life is good at this time of the year.

March 18th, 2011A friend, who is all Swedish, spent the day playing leprechaun, sprinkling green glitter and confetti all over her kid’s rooms, backing shamrock shaped cookies, cooking up some cornbeef and cabbage, and popping open cans of Guiness for her husband. I, on the other hand, who am 7/8th Irish, wore red and served enchiladas.
Clearly I need to reconnect with my heritage. Please pick me!
March 18th, 2011Hope you don’t have a guinness hangover today! I’d love to add to my love of Ireland with Pat’s book - thanks for the giveaway.
March 18th, 2011A quilt tour through Ireland sounds divine. Until then, winning this book would be really nice!

March 19th, 2011A tour of Ireland from my recoverying bed isn’t as great as the real thing but I’d take!

March 19th, 2011Around here it’s “Slap someone …” Is that better or worse than “punch”? Either way, I wore green and had an Irish Coffee. Now for a little Irish luck …
March 19th, 2011Thanks for the chance to win! Looks like a fun book - would be great to make something for my Irish inlaws. Love your blog!
March 19th, 2011I’m not commenting for the book - I have it already (and love it), I’m commenting because I’m still laughing out loud at your “punching” comment…which some days sounds like a better idea than pinching. I should have been punched last year, and I’m surprised my grandparents did rise from the grave and do it…I wore an orange dress to work - totally vegged out. Needless to say, I got several comments from people who know I’m half Irish (Ma and Pa were both born there!)
