A bari wonderful give-away!
February 8th, 2011
I’m so honored to be caboose’n the last day of Bari’s Inspired to Sew Book Blog Tour! I’m just honored to be a part of it, period! Bari is giving a copy of her beautiful book to one lucky person on my blog - and all you have to do is leave me a comment. If you’d like to mention what INSPIRES you TO SEW in your comment… please do!
I’m inspired to sew when I see something, and think how much more I’d love it if I made it myself. I also feel empowered if I make something myself. I think people who cook feel the same way - there’s a very nurturing quality about making stuff, especially if it’s for someone else. Reason #126 why I love Bari’s new book… it’s not just drop dead gorgeous… but all the projects in her book are something I want to make - to make for others. Like Bari’s tea-cozy… it’s something I might be able to buy ready-made - but not even close to as pretty as Bari’s projects. Plus after I make them they’re infused with love - that’s something that can’t be bought.
I love this tea set… cozy, pad and teabag. It just screams to me to make it - and then have friends over for tea. Not just sewing projects… but little projects that make doing something all the more fun, and with friends. The little tea projects are sew-cial treats!
There’s lots, lots, lots more inside the beautiful pages of Inspired to Sew - and a copy could be yours! Leave me a comment by midnight PST Thursday, February 10, 2011 and one lucky name will be drawn. If you haven’t already, be sure to travel back in time to stop by and visit the other blogs on the tour. WOW… look at this list-o-greatness I’m with!

February 8th, 2011A lot of my inspiration comes from need. I need a new bag, or a need a new purse, so I decide to make one that works with my needs. I really ought to work on duplicating my sewing projects, so that I can develop designs and work out the “perfect” item.
February 8th, 2011I’m inspired by my kids, definitely :)
February 8th, 2011What a beautiful book! I can’t wait to check out the other blogs too.
February 8th, 2011I was going to write that what inspires me to sew is the ability to customize anything. But then I realized that what it is, is the feeling when I am done. I feel creative, empowered and satisfied. I have so little time with 2 kids 2 and under to do anything for myself that 15 minutes of sewing can completly change my attitude for the day or week. I just love it!
Thank you for the giveaway, I would love to win this.
February 8th, 2011I am inspired by many things; my kids, tutorials I see, books, and last but not least my bank account, lol!
I love to make useful house things. I am always inspired to rush home and make something when I see how much they charge for even simple things like potholders in the shops.
February 8th, 2011I am inspired by the lovely fabrics I see, the great tutorials and blogs.

February 8th, 2011When I see all the creative projects that other people make my creativity spikes. Don’t we all get such a thrill to be able to say, “I made that”
February 8th, 2011I watched my grandmother sew, it amazed me how she could just take fabric and cut it up and turn it into gorgeous quilts. Now I do the same.
One thing that inspires me to sew is making things for others! It makes me happy!!! Thanks for sharing and a chance to win!
February 8th, 2011These days, EVERYTHING inspires me to sew … the weather, fabric, spring coming, seeing my furniture on the deck and thinking how cute it would be with new cushions, my pets (they love quilts).

the book looks awesome! i was inspired to sew, i think, by seeing all the beautiful things my friend was making. but i was inspired to quilt just by going to an LAMQG meeting. i told my husband, “don’t worry, i’m not coming back (from the meeting) a quilter.” but after that meeting, i couldn’t NOT be a quilter!
February 8th, 2011It does look reallllllllly inspiring for sure!! :-)
February 8th, 2011What a gorgeous book!
What inspires me to sew…?
Hmmm… well, I’d have to say that it literally keeps me sane! I’m a SAHM to two girls who are now 12 and 13 and I’ve always been home with them no matter how many times I’ve tried to go to work outside the home. Quilting keeps me able to at least feel like I’m contributing to our household, while keeping the TV off during the daytime, if you know what I mean ;) I do a little of the craft show circut each year, have my shop on etay, and for 12 years have run an annual Christmas Open House. No idle time for this momma! And now that my girls are into
yearbook, leadership, and basketball, it’s nice to have the option to apways take a little project along when I’m running them here and there. Win-win, right? Sorry, long answer!
Hugs, Kimberly

That’s the best time for em to run with it!

February 9th, 2011I recently got back into sewing and I’ve already amassed an incredible stack of fabric scraps. I’ve fallen in love with your blog (in fact it’s featured on my Best Sewing Blogs Ever lens at Squidoo) and I’m looking forward to using up those scraps to create a bunch of cute quilts, wall hangings, and those adorable mini totes!
February 9th, 2011I’m inspired to sew when I want things that I can’t afford - LOL!!
February 9th, 2011Beau-TEA-Ful! Tea-themed projects inspire me to sew…as does felted wool, my boxes of vintage fabric scraps from my deceased grandmother and the keep-it-real for kids projects of Amanda Soule.

February 10th, 2011I’ve become inspired as I have grown older. I have started teaching my 2 granddaughters and my daughter in law to sew, even taking them some of my fabric. I find life so worthwhile at 62, more time to quilt, make bags, and home dec. projects, I want to hurry and do it all. Thank you for a chance to get to know you.
February 10th, 2011oops am I too late??? Hopefully not

March 2nd, 2011Inspiration? I couldn’t even tell you! I’m inspired by everything! My brain runs on some kind of ‘artsy’ setting. I walk around taking beautiful photos of the world around me in my mind, I make my own music videos with the songs on the radio, I see people’s clothes, change them a little and make a whole new outfit in my head. It’s a real shame I can’t funnel ideas from my brain directly to my sewing machine because that would be MUCH easier! I’m inspired by everything. Every color, every person, every shop window, every restaurant, every…thing. My brain runs on art and I love it. I can’t imagine any other way!
