Sewing my way to Market.
May 3rd, 2010
I’m sure anyone who’s ever had pre-Market stuff to get ready, knows it’s not done until the empty spool sings (even though I burned through a spool of Aurifil on Saturday and I still have more sewing to do). One more thing for my to-do list - buy more thread. While I was threadless (or rather out of the color I needed), I did some to-do’s on my computer… new [updated] banner that PamKittyMorning lovingly calls,”it’s HZ on supercrack“, got my Holiday Happy Flickr group running, made a Holiday Happy info page, made a HH “Swatchamacallit” swatch card PDF and made some buttons.
What I have been able to accomplish:
- Neglect my blog.
- Neglect my in-box. I am bad, bad, BAD.
- Neglect visiting everyone’s blogs. I am bad, bad, SUPERBAD.
- Neglect my yard work, laundry and housework.
- Watched episodes 1-20 of Gilmore Girls while doing handwork.
- Wore my pajamas while working for 5 days (not consecutively… I’m not THAT bad).
- Scored an 111 point word (which I’ve forgotten) on a Words With Friends game with Lynette (sorry, I just can’t stop talking about it).
- Gained a bonus 10 lbs from my DH’s thoughtful cooking.
My accomplishment highlights:
- Spending an amazing laugh filled fun wonderful day with sistah-friend and super rockstar Tammy Gilley at her AMAZING house. We are seeking a contractor to build an underground tunnel between our houses (who will accept pita chips and beer as payment). Tammy showing me how the Hoosier-daddy cabinet works - she’s milling me some pretend flour.
- Finishing my Market/Lecien project. Next stop… Lecien booth.
- Working on a special (and Bliss-ful) project unrelated to Market, but needs to be done before I leave for Minneapolis.
My semi-accomplishment highlights:
- I put myself on a 3 day Twitter Exile Island. I lasted 18 hours.
- Suggesting to the writers/producers of ABC’s sweet deliciousness of a Nancy-Drew-on-crack-goodness new show of Happy Town - to add a quilt shop to the town… Our Daily Thread. And of course - carry my Holiday Happy fabric line. (Happy Town Twitter Guy - I’m watching you, too.)
- Hitting “publish” on this post!

Oh Yes! A Quilt Shop on Happy Town and you can be the Madam of the fabric ho’s. Can I say that here? Anyhoo…
May 3rd, 2010Love the new Supercrack Logo
Love your new fabric! Drool!! Can’t wait to get some.
I can swing a hammer. If I bring pita and beer can I help?
And..
Oy with the Poodles already! {just how much Gilmore Girls have you seen??}
HO!
May 3rd, 2010You are ever so busy.
You know… I might work for pita chips and beer. Not for long, but I’d like to *chip* in!
so that’s where you’ve been! umm, how many hours are in your day?? all those goodies look so funn! It’s great to see Tammy’s smiling face, too :) My great-grandmother had that same baking cabinet complete with flour sifter, slide-out wood chopping surface and measurement conversions on the inside. Love love it. See you soon! xxoo
May 3rd, 2010Love the ‘Swatchamacallit”! Can’t wait to see what you make with Holiday Happy. Wish I lived closer & could stunt sew for you. Thanks for taking the time to post!
May 3rd, 2010i hope to make it to market, just have to find a way to sneak in, I’m making the drive to msp and see what happens!
May 3rd, 2010Wishing I could be at market with you to see the debut of your fabric. Looking forward to getting my hot little hands on your new fabric. Gotta have some to make a cute, super cute project for your flickr group! Thanks for the invite! But man oh man, I could really get into that Words with Friends! That is my kinda thing, ya know! Love words… Thanx!
May 3rd, 2010I love love love your new blog header! It is so Happy!!
May 3rd, 2010And I know you tried really hard to stay off Twitter! Your projects look so fun and I can’t wait to see pics of your booth at Market.
You’re soooo funny. And you’re working too hard. Slow down. You won’t have any juice left for market!
May 3rd, 2010Dang, you are keeping busy!
That Tammy looks like she would be ALMOST as much fun as YOU.
So I should watch Happy Town? I haven’t signed on yet. Who are we rooting for on Amazing Race now? I like the gay-straight brothers, but I have to say, that model girl has surprised me at how she has soldiered through. The cowboys, not a fan. Not NOT a fan, but they are just a little too TOO for me.
May 3rd, 2010Glad to see you let those bolts out of their plastic prison and got sewing!! Can’t WAIT to see what you make, do I get a sneak peek ’cause I can’t come to Minneapolis??
May 3rd, 2010Well little missy…you have been busy havn’t you?
May 3rd, 2010It’s all good stuff!

I’m waiting oh so impatiently to see what you do with it.

May 3rd, 2010Who the hell do I think I am, Vanna White?! Egads! Thanks for spending the day with me…can’t wait for our next caper. xoxo
May 3rd, 2010:-) Love it! Can’t wait to see more. Soon!
Sounds like its crazy over there too. Why do we all live so far apart? Would sure be nice to stay up all night sewing with a bunch of other market nuts. Geesh.
May 3rd, 2010I have accomplished almost all the same things (insert Dr. Who for Gilmore Girls), except mine being for different reasons. Somehow managed to sprain my ankle (just walking to my car after work) and come down with a nasty cough. I’m talented like that.
May 4th, 2010I was wondering when you were going to emerge from your little room! I’m glad to see you out from under all that fabric to at least update us on the fact that you are still breathing. :) I wish I could tell you I was heading to MN to see you (and my friend Anisa, who my kid is named after), but I’m not. *tear* You have a wonderful trip (I know you will). Don’t talk to strangers. Wear clean undies. You know, the normal stuff! Love you friend!!!! :)
May 4th, 2010Oh there you are! Glad you’re back!
Saw the new banner and wondered when it had changed. It looks great, even though I was skeptical about the X eye.
Thank you for the Swatchamacallit - the fabrics look beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the completed project, and Very Much looking forward to getting my own Santa gnomes fabric!
Hope you have a wonderful time at Quilt Market!!!
May 4th, 2010Love the new banner Monica - it’s so happy and cheerful! I cannot believe that we have only just over two weeks until Market - I’m so excited and also a little nervous that I won’t get everything done!
BTW, I have my computer back now, did a blog post today, and your blog post is next up on deck. Woohoo!
May 4th, 2010Dear Zombie, You have no choice but to create, let’s face it. And I’ve done that Gilmore Girls marathon a time or two myself, love those girls. Just keep on stitchin, we’ll be here!
May 4th, 2010So…you’ve been having lots of fun! You can probably answer a question for me that I’ve been wondering about since I got to sew with Bliss last week…does it coordinate with your new fabric….?
May 4th, 2010Holy cow it is HZ on supercrack. And that pile of HH deliciousness infront of the shelf ‘o joy is wonderful.
May 4th, 2010Its just a couple of weeks now right? Cannot wait. xo
Cripes woman, we need to get you a cape! I want your vitamins!
May 4th, 2010I always love the colours you pick for your quilts. So bright and cheery!
May 4th, 2010I remember a kid from when I was growing up who tried to convince us all that he had dug a series of tunells so he get to our houses easier and that one led to a private building with all sorts of machines and transport he had been building. He was about 12, if that. Naive I may have been but not as bad as that!
Kudos on the pyjama thing. If I could get away with wearing pyjams to work I happily would!
Wow, it’s exhausting just to read. However, how amazing would it be to go to quilt market with Your Own Booth! Fabulous!
May 4th, 2010And I LOVE that wheat grinding cabinet, genious! Why don’t they make things like that anymore?
I knew you were speeding sewing, if I was closer I’d stunt sew for ya…actually I still could! Can’t wait to make my granddaughter a sweet holiday smock with HH fabrics.
May 4th, 2010Won’t it be nice when you get to take a deep breath and see all that you’ve accomplished? Hopefully you’ll have some relaxing time soon. You’re going to have such fun at market! kma x
May 4th, 2010You are funny. I know how you might be feeling but so much more than I can imagine. You’ll be a market star!!
May 4th, 2010You are…Happily CRAZY!!!!!!
May 4th, 2010And here I was wondering if something had happened to you…obviously you’ve been very, very busy….hope you have a great market adventure and have a few moments to share more of your zombieness with us afterwards!
May 5th, 2010Oh you busy bad bee!!! :o)
May 5th, 2010I just wondered if you are ok, but it seems as if you are SUPER ok!!! Have so much fun at the market and please, take lots of pics so that we can have a “little feeling” of being there, too!!!!
Ganz liebe Grüße
Sabine
You crack me up! you are insanely busy but sometimes i know thats the best way to be. Good luck with the market, wish I could be there!
May 7th, 2010have fun sewing your fingers to the bone! :)can’t wait to meet you at market. :) :) :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 7th, 2010I’m still stuck back on the 111 point word. Holy crapolaa. What could it be and I so want to use it! Riff and I sat in a coffee shop in Bandon last weekend and played a game of Scrabble. He smoked me, so if I had a 111 point word up my sleeve, I could certainly leave him in the dust.
May 7th, 2010Now, must go back and re-read to see what other craziness you have or have not accomplished. So excited for your market debut!
Seriously? 111 points? That’s amazing! I think my highest is 74, and I also can’t remember the word. Love the fabric by the way! Can’t wait to get my hands on some!
May 7th, 2010I am so happy for you. Enjoy every minute of your fame!!! You rock!!!
May 9th, 2010Happy Mother’s Day too!!
Your life sounds like mine, minus the sewing and quilting. It is superbad!!!
I hope you have a great time at quilt market. I know you will. I also know your fabric line is going to be a huge hit…it already is.
May 10th, 2010wow! i’ve been remiss following my list of blogs…congradulations on your upcoming trip to market and your fabric line! we had 4″ of very heavy wet snow on the 8th and today it just might hit 60. hoping for more sunny days this summer so garden will grow. again, good luck and may you sellout the first run of your fabric line….
May 12th, 2010omg, you are crackin’ me up big time! so delightful : )
May 27th, 2010I have a question…how does one watch TV and clean the house? Is it on your ipod? I might actually consider cleaning this house if I could watch something (maybe Sopranos or Little House on Prairie) while working…or maybe I need to get an iPad…yes, definitely!
