Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your kind and loving comments about my upcoming fabric! I think I read each comment 5 or 6 times - soaking it all in knowing how lucky I am to be surrounded with such warmth and kindness. So much is going on at my house, and I wasn’t able to answer the wonderful comments. Please forgive me. I’ve been sooo busy - that even most of my bolts are STILL wrapped in plastic. I KNOW, crazy. I had some really cool company come last week, so I had a lot to do before hand (because I’m not blessed with he cleaning gene). Probably the most exciting visitors I ever had… and I can’t talk about it until 2011. I KNOW, crazy.
So last week in prep for my company - I decided I needed to go to Ikea and redo my living room. I KNOW, crazy! But not to worry, I didn’t. But… Ikea did give me a thrill. A red and aqua thrill. I’ve been loving the red and aqua since before September 2006 (I know this because that’s when I partook in my 1st red & aqua swap), and NOW, almost 4 years later… Ikea is FINALLY on board with the color combo. I KNOW, crazy.
I don’t need any more drinking glasses… but I had to get these. My cupboard complained. I KNOW, crazy!
Have to have the dinner napkins. And the best part… I get to rub red and aqua all over my face and not be looked down on like a weirdo. I KNOW, crazy.

I did find a really cool red shelfy thingy at Ikea that I HAD TO HAVE. It was intended to go in my studio, but it didn’t work out there. I tried it in the kitchen and then twitpic’d it in it’s temp spot… and then I got tweeted that it’s a good spot. I do what my tweet peeps tell me. And plus my DS walked into the kitchen and said, “wow, perfect spot” (I KNOW, crazy).
My favorite thing to do at Ikea (besides filling up the yellow bag), is to pick out a showroom flat (notice I didn’t say apartment - because I always feel so Euro when I’m at Ikea) and pretend it’s mine. This was my flat pick - my Mo Faux Home - I’m gaga over the navy/pink/red/white combo. Ga. Ga.
Here’s the living room - I love the pink club chair (bottom left, just barely). Perfect to have *Secret Society of Something meetings in. Jona is bringing cheesecake, and Mary is bringing her specialty. Anyone else want to bring a snack?
*So secret - it’s not even been established yet. I KNOW, crazy. No membership dues, no business meetings, no blech… just food, fun, sewing, crafting and friends. Some day - so be ready!

We have IKEA just “around the corner” and I love to go there. But it´s always the same. I say to myself not to buy ANYTHING, but I have always some nice stuff in the big yellow bag!! I know…Crazy!!!

I love going to IKEA too.. Dags calls it the ‘mothership’ but I have never bought anything from there! LOL I have been there three times and bought ONE lampshade (and it doesn’t fit my lamp) its a 4.5hr round trip for me to go!

Oh man, when IKEA first opened in Portland I went there so often my kids thought we lived there. I want my whole life to look like one of their catalog pages. Everything is so clean and organized.

I must say those green (celadon?) jars on the bottom shelf of the new kitchen shelf are *gorgeous*! I’m hoping I can find similarly awesome shelving solution for my own kitchen!

April 17th, 2010IKEA has A LOT to answer for in my house. I have one room that apart from a desk, everything is from IKEA. You can’t beat it, good stuff, affordable prices.

April 18th, 2010I wish we could go to IKEA together. Dang Portland for not opening that IKEA before I left. I’m glad you had a successful trip over there. Even when I don’t find STUFF to buy at IKEA, I always leave with at least 1 bag of swedish fish. :) I love the shelf and where you put it, but of course, you know I love your house….gift shop! :) Now, stop being so dang busy and get to playing with all that fabric! :)

I love it when Ikea brings out the summer goodies! I make a mean bread pudding and I would be happy to bring it to the secret society of whatever the big secret of the society meeting is. I have to agree that the shelf looks pretty darn good there.
April 18th, 2010So I would be thrilled to join the “Secret, secret” society. I can bring killer Olive Cheese bread if you want savory or I do sweet too like Coconut Cupcakes. Cosmo..oh yes, my fav is a blood orange one but I’ll take a cranberry one any day. (Did you know there is a restaurant in Chicago that does martini samplers? 4 sample martinis in a sample rack..so stinking good.)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who picks out an Ikea flat :P And I get to say flat because that’s what they are here :D :D Doesn’t it just bug you though when you get totally random people just walking through YOUR flat like they have the God given right? You can be the President Queen Bee and I wanna be the the Vice President Queen Bee …. and I think a secret handshake is absolutely necessary and a uniform … like a tiara and a sash ….. or a flower covered bathing cap and a moo moo …. (the bathing cap and moo moo could be our everyday uniforms and the tiara and sash could be our dress uniforms …. like when we’re in a parade …. but we would never be expected to actually walk in a parade … no I think a special float would be just the ticket …. June 7th, 2010Hi! I found you via “Castle Peeps Summer Camp” … anyway … I WANT that red shelf! I’m redecorating my kitchen to be aqua/red and it would be perfection. Also on the whole “IKEA flat” thing, you need to rent {500} days of summer. :) Really, there is one scene that you will love! Plus Zoe Daschannel is adorable as always in this indy-woody-allen-non-romantic-comedy-flick.
