Creative spaces - a high fiber low word diet
March 18th, 2010
I catch myself being so dang wordy all the time - so I’m gonna give writing a post twitter style a shot. Plus it makes looking at the pics but not reading the words - a guilt free pleasure. Like going straight for the wrapped birthday present and bypassing the card.
Saw this quilt at Oh Fransson and had to (sorta) make one RIGHT. NOW.
Moda “Holly Jolly” jelly roll, Darlene Zimmerman EZ Quilting Easy Dresden (at 5″) and 1½” Kaufman Kona Snow strips.
Breeze. Sunshine. Oregon coast. Thick green grass.
Seams. Pressing directions. Piecing. Sunlight. Peek-a-boo.
Outside. Fresh air. No rain. No clouds. No Gray. Time to mow.
Ice tea. Comfy garden chair. Computer. Off.

When my niece was little, she told me the Easter Bunny came down the chimney and brought her chocolate bunnies - so cute!

I saw and fell in love with that quilt, too, but there ends the similarity between you and me. I haven’t started it yet. And don’t tell me you matched your stripes! Thanks for the idea of the ruler. I’ll have to get me one. (I’m not only blog-less, but I don’t own a cellphone and know nothing of twittering.)
March 18th, 2010Simply. Stunning. Happy!
March 18th, 2010My boy has also decided to no longer use too many words with his blog so now it is purely photos, with a heading for the whole photo stream. It looks interesting and makes people ask themselves who, what, where, why, but not on the blog. Almost like they fear to disrupt the quiet imagery.
March 19th, 2010As a contract, he loves twitter, posts there at least once a day every day. Me, I don’t get twitter.
Nicynice, love it because it gives a happy feeling just looking at it!
March 19th, 2010So pretty, love it and the sunshine, your ruler looks like fun too. Happy spring Monica!
March 19th, 2010This is a lovely quilt very bright & cheerful well done
March 19th, 2010Hugs Janice
I love it! I think I just found the pattern for my next baby quilt.
March 19th, 2010I can “feel” the colors you chose. They sooo match your description. I can smell the ocean and pine. I miss it. Damn your description! :)
March 19th, 2010You are KaWick! I downloaded the Oh Fransson pattern when she posted it. Hmmmm…do you have some other secret?? Like Super Zombie Power??
Love Cute WANT
March 19th, 2010I need to find that ruler.
I love this quilt. Awesome!
March 19th, 2010I am in love with that quilt! In love! And I am also IN LOVE with the weather we’ve been having! I plan on being out in it ALL day. Starting now. ;o) ooxx`jod
March 19th, 2010So bright and cheery! Those photos are beautiful and make me smile! I can’t believe that fabric is Christmas fabric. This can SO be your “Christmas in July” picnic blanket. You know…when you’re wishing people around you would just have that Christmasy spirit and you had lots of presents to open and sweet cookies to nibble on, but it’s too darn hot and sunny to even close your eyes and pretend? You can make some tree, wreath, snowman cookies…decorate them all bright and summer sassy (with sunglasses and a snow-bikini), then pack up some turkey or ham sandwiches and a summer squash side salad and head on out to that green grassy place and celebrate CHRISTMAS IN JULY! How fun for you!!!!!
March 19th, 2010Love it! And I love your tweet style. :-)
March 19th, 2010Seriously?!?! How did I LIVE for so long without coming upon your site? AND you’re right here in Oregon! I sure hope you have room for a Portland groupie.
Oh, and the quilt? Yeah. Want one. Now, please.
March 19th, 2010Ooooh, cute new quilt top Ms. Monica! Love the pics but love the words too — bring ‘em back LOL!
March 19th, 2010vchristenson@happy zombie “luv it” must get one too. will send you address so you can make me 1.ttfn
March 19th, 2010I definitely think we have the same taste in color. I love how bright and fresh this is!
March 20th, 2010Well, well, you have been busy. A new fabric line, and a new quilt top, what a fabulous way to start spring!
March 20th, 2010I love your variation on that quilt…wonderful. :)
March 20th, 2010That looks so luscious! Being temporarily away from my sewing palace makes me long for it all the more!
March 20th, 2010I have that easy dresden … use it too … but never in my life thought to make a quilt like that with it!! No wonder you’re a super star.
March 21st, 2010That’s so cute! I really love the bright colors. My house has been turned upside down while we remodel our bathroom, so I haven’t been in my sewing room much :(
March 21st, 2010Loved the New Wave at first sight — and I’m really liking your New Wave-ish take!
March 22nd, 2010It’s an art piece. I love the sun’s shadows. Beautiful.
March 22nd, 2010The style is great. I have yet to get back on twitter since my hacking incident. I gotta get on that. Love the quilt. The pattern is great.
March 22nd, 2010So fresh, so airy, sooooo SPRINGY!! So YOU!!!
March 23rd, 2010Beautiful!!!!!

Sweet.

March 24th, 2010OMG ….now another project to add to my list! This is gorgeous!
Having a 200th post celebration …pop on over for the giveaway!
March 24th, 2010Okay …so I just saw I gave you my old blog link! Here is the right one!
March 24th, 2010Monica, I have two of these bad boys in my stash, soon to be one! I love this. You know, I’m surprised your fabric dots are not little washing machines. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
March 25th, 2010I have the ruler…definitely want to make this quilt too! It is lovely, waving in the wind!
March 27th, 2010Oh I love it!
March 28th, 2010And I am guilty of being far too wordy. I am not sure I could even blog twitter style, but it may be fun to try.
Your quilt is so pretty!
I have to tell you that I just read your comment over at MBS and you make me laugh! You are more than welcome to move into my sewing room with me, my husband, my dog and my daughter and sometimes my 11 yr old neighbor! :) But since it’s freezing cold here in Utah you probably don’t want to! Maybe I can just move in with you!! :)
March 30th, 2010I love it!! You make me smile, are you going to market? Let me know about the Spring thing!
March 30th, 2010Your pal from Rainier:)
Nadine
So when did you have such nice sun? We are freezing up here in Seattle. Or was that the same nice day that we had a couple of weeks ago. Love the quilt!
At least we can be indoors sewing, guilt free.
