My studio Christmas make-over…
December 9th, 2009
Who says it takes days to decorate. I did mine in about 3 minutes.
Indecision is my middle name. Because Monica Inability To Make A Decision Solorio was much too long.
And THAT was my Christmas decorating for 2009. ONLY because I’m still waiting for the 7′ white tree I ordered from Kohl’s. They sent me a green one by accident - so I wait for the replacement. Customer service (via their facebook site) was so outstanding in the matter… that I’m all good with the little extra wait. Indecision may be my middle name… but Procrastination is my first name. Plus the MaryKate-mas tree wants to come out of the attic. Just in case.
Darling, darling, darling owl and adorable dress/apron ornament made by my seriously talented and sweet friend Laurie of Old School Acres (and she’s got a wonderful etsy shop!).

Oh, Man, seriously cute. But, your house has ALWAYS reminded me of a super cute gifty shop. :) I love that little owl.
December 9th, 2009Procrastination is my middle name too. Oh and I am secretly known as Secret midnight sewer-decorator lady, at my house.
December 9th, 2009I feel like such a slacker! Can I just send friends and family pictures of your adorable studio? It looks so dang cute.

Hi Monica,
love your decoration…that tree is just too cute (love the snowmen ornaments!).
Have a great week,
Julia
P.S.: How come you’ve got a copy of “Der Struwwelpeter”? I used to have this book as a child…and it kind of frightened & fascinated me at the same time ;o)
December 9th, 2009Adorable! Of course - wouldn’t expect anything different ;) That owl is just too darned cute!
December 9th, 2009Love the white tree and perfectly coordinated ornaments and your owl is so cute. I am seeing owls everywhere lately.
December 9th, 2009The only thing I don’t like about these photos is that I can’t make them bigger so I can see every single tiny detail. I love it all. xo

PS I like the white tree too.. I already have two green tree’s so the hubs would be a bit distressed/unhappy/pi$$ed off with me if another tree come home… they aren’t something you can easily hide petal!
December 9th, 2009Love it! I just love your blog- it always cheers me right up. You know, I think that tree would look at home in my house too….
Do you think there’s such a thing as red/aqua heaven? I think it in your sewing room!
December 9th, 2009Dear Miss Procrastination Indecision Solorio-Snow (i.e. Miss Piss) …. I do believe we are twins separated at birth ….. happy last minute indecisive decorating/shopping/baking/wrapping/sewing/etc, etc, etc …..

December 10th, 2009And I chose your block and the one next to yours in from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks for the international charity quilt! Great design! I will let you know as soon as it is finished, which will be around mid January!
I think you are the first person ever to compliment Kohls….and on customer service to boot. Glad it worked out for you, I haven’t had that experience with them.
December 10th, 2009Okay, officially the cutest Christmas Sewing Room ever. The contest is over.
December 10th, 2009Cute, cute, cute! How do you do it??
I’m in love with white Christmas trees. Went to a garden center/”Christmas wonderland” this weekend…the white trees blew me away. The ornaments looked so good on them. Can’t wait to see yours (once you get it)!!
December 10th, 2009SO cute Monica. You can come decorate my house anytime. Love It All! Love the Pennie Pockets. Merry Christmas to you and the family.
December 10th, 2009You seriously crack me up! Love the tree, and the owl. Oh, and BTW, just wondering when you will finish your “A Tisket A Tasket” BOM quilt. I’m dying to see your changes!
December 11th, 2009oh gosh Monica. I have the same Old School owl and the same lil snowman heads from J’s (i think?) but they just look so CLEAN and QUIET and SANE in your space. ahhhh. Will I EVER get in that kind of (kid free) space? I sure hope so. I wish i could see the 7ft white tree from Kohl’s. That is SO gonna rock!
December 11th, 2009oh my turquoise and red stars, in a billowy white sky…I am in love with your studio!!
December 15th, 2009I’m HOWLING…love the before and after shots! As for the owl, that is such a MUST HAVE. Am I a sinner for coveting an OWL?
December 18th, 2009That owl is unbelievable adorable. Loved your before and after pictures. I guess you didn’t spend a week or so putting away all your everyday decor like some people I know.
