Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks - Sew Happy Together
November 12th, 2009
There’s only one thing more fun then being in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks issue… and that’s being featured with lots of friends and rock-star quilters - and I’m so honored to be amongst them! I kind of fudged a little… I’m using the alternate cover image that features Camille, Laurie, Elizabeth, Pat, Pam
and me AND ME!
You can follow along on the 100 Blocks Blog Tour, and even have a chance to win prizes and an issue. Tomorrow (9/13) is my day on the tour, so leave me a comment - and for jollies tell me your favorite 2-color combo. Or tell me whatcha makin’ for dinner. I’ll draw a name from all the entries posted by 12:01am PST Nov. 14th, 2009 (that’s right, mmmm-hmmmm… I’m not messin’ around with Friday the 13th), and the winner will be sent a copy from the nice folks at Quiltmaker. It’ll be so fresh off the press you’ll be able to sniff it like a ditto.
Is it a coincidence that Pam’s block (#90) and my block (#89) use the same fabrics (Sweet, by our pals the Urban Chicks)? Is it a coincidence that Pam’s block and my block are great companion blocks and look Sew Happy Together?
Only time will tell. It’s very possible we’ve been cookin’ somethin’ up.
Yup.
It’s possible.

November 12th, 2009Congratulations, Monica for being featured in the Quilt Makers 100 Blocks with all those others! You must feel proud!
November 12th, 2009I started to appreciate the combination of white with a nice bright color, such as pink, aqua, even red. Yes, I started to appreciate red too, over the last year. It was definitely not my color, but with a daughter who loves red, you find all kinds of new possibilities. So my choice would be white with a bright color.
Well and I will let you know what I will do for dinner today: Buy pizza! I have cooked very responsible over the last 5 days, so I thought it was about time to have some ‘junk food’(((O:
Have a lovely Friday! Thirteen is actually my favorite number .^-^.
Just lookit you and your bad self! Whoopee! More press!
Of course you and Pam both used “Sweet,” because, well, do I have to say it? OK, you’re soooooooooooo sweet!
I need some real-life quilt buddies. I’ve learned by the seat of my pants, and I have to do everything wrong 12 times before I get it right. I want somebody to be in the room so I can say, “Hey, what do I do now?”
November 13th, 2009Yay on being in the most popular magaine right now! My favorite color combo for now is teal and brown. My dinner is going to be homemade stew by my personal chef…my hubby!
November 13th, 2009I forgot to answer the question! Hmmmm. Favorite two-color block. Right now I am sort of in love with Kona’s chartreuse solid paired with Kaffe Fassett’s red/pink/magentas. I also love 30’s turquoise and yellow together.
Actually, I’m quite the color whore. I like everything bright. And we had pork loin for dinner, and I have a turkey thawing in the fridge. 8 bucks for a 13-pound turkey! How could you not? Wish I had a lot of empty freezer space.

2 color combo: love blue & yellow, but can’t believe you asked me to pick just one!!! Compulsive fabric and color hoarder!!!
Now was dinner for Thursday or Friday? Thursday was leftover Swiss Potato Potage (potato soup with swiss cheese and bacon) and Friday will be pot roast since I decided too late yesterday to start it. With this horrible storm here in VA, I need all the comfort food I can get!
Congrats to you both on being chosen for this super special issue.
