Tweet-n-Eat
August 25th, 2009
Lucky me (super lucky me), Jona is visiting the motherland - and I got to be a part of her visit! Non stop talking and laughing - and even some tweeting thrown in.
Tweet-n-Eat… it’s what happens when two friends meet up for dinner and their iPhones are just as important as their forks and knives!
Then after the tweets come checking the @replies and txt’s…
Me: Pam wishes she was here too! (and we did too!)
Jona: Bari says hi! (Hi back, Bari!)
Me: Patty says it looks like we’re having a great time (we WERE!)
Me: Joanna says no fair… she wants to be here eating fish and chips instead of writing patterns & prepping ads… (us too!)
Some days I shun technology [insert Laure Ingalls fantasy life here], but had it not been for technology and blogging… I never would have met Jona. Well, I think we would have met eventually… but it sure made it faster with the help of technology. Speed friending. AND… we kinda had our friends join us for dinner… three snaps in Z formation for technology!
Before dinner, I give Jona the not so E-ticket tour of Hacienda Happy Z… like making her walk through the golden retriever mine field to show her my secret forest - and show her were I want to park my fantasy camper.
We had so much fun, and it went all to fast. There was never a moment where we weren’t talking. And never ever have I ever seen such attentive service at The Wet Dog. Our twenty something waiter was at our table I think every 5 minutes. But I can see why, when this person is at your table!
Saying good-bye is hard - luckily it was bone chilling cold or we would have stood by our cars for a couple more hours chatting! Good-bye Miss Jona Arizona… hurry back soon - and thank you for making me a part of your trip home!

Dang! You gals have to invite me next time!! Monica, you and I somehow happened to elude each other last time I was in Portland and we’ve had, what, 3 Quilt Markets since and I still haven’t met you face to face? What’s up with that?!? We need to do something about that! I’ve seen Jona at every single one of them, but I still never get tired of her! heeheee ;) Thanks for the mention!!!

August 25th, 2009I am positively green with envy. Seriously! I love me some Jona and the fact that she got to hang out with you, the elusive Happy Zombie, makes me wish I could hop a plane pronto. *sigh*
August 25th, 2009How fun was this post?!?!? I laughed, I cut/paste to friends, I spent 1/2 hour on Happy Loves Rosie looking at that camper, then I cut/pasted to more friends!
You’re such a HOOT!

Okay, I’m jealous too. It was bone-chilling cold? My a/c decided to die today. It’s a balmy 91 here in Florida with high humidity. Ice water, anyone? Glad you guys had fun. Send me some of that Oregon weather.
August 25th, 2009Tweet-n-eat… love it!
August 25th, 2009Friends ROCK! Glad you girlies had a fun time together. I can’t wait to get to go to the Wet Dog with you again. :)
August 25th, 2009Oh it looks like you had so much fun!!! I am so proud to say I’ve personally made it through the golden retriever mine field, with nary a scratch…hehe And Wet Dog too?!? Mr. ACQ swears that the burger he had there was THE best one he’s ever had…now I’m hungry. Glad you had a nice visit!! xo
August 25th, 2009Oh dear me… I just went to see your fantasy camper… I think I died, and when I came back to life I decided this is my fantasy camper too!!! Holy Shishkabobs!!!! Talk about PF Changing your pants! Happy’s camper is my Graceland. x
August 25th, 2009I’m jealous of all these people that come and visit you!!! I wish I could have come when my husband was in your neighborhood last year!!!
I’ve never met Jona personally, but I love her blog and her fun tutorials. Her fabric shop (and prompt service) is fantastic!
August 25th, 2009That ripple through blog land brought me to both of your blogs - you and Jona. I’m a better gal for it. Totally. Looks fun.
August 25th, 2009Yeah, you’re killing me again. I’ve been to the dog mine field too, butnot the wet dog and dang it I would roll around in some bone chilling cold right now if I could. Without a sweater. Or coat.
Why is everyone so far away or obsessed with painting their kitchen and Sisboom room so there’s no one to dork around with. I’m off to pout.
August 25th, 2009There ya go again…have you no shame woman??? I’m surprised SW3 didn’t call you on it! Looks like you two had a wonderful time — and a golden retriever mine field? You crack me up!!!
August 25th, 2009Well! I am jealous!!
August 25th, 2009Wow, how fun! I just read something about making the most of the moment– you sure did, and more, by including us.
August 26th, 2009The internet does bring a lot of good friends together when they didn’t know they were friends yet! What I’m wondering, you’re only 36 miles from me and you had bone-chilling temps? I know you’re more on the river/ocean weather, but I didn’t think it was that much different. However, I did clean my hot tub and got it going for the chilly nights we’ve been starting to get.
August 26th, 2009Shoot, I got off track, but all that to say I’m glad you had a great visit lol. Karen
What fun - bet you didn’t think there would be such a wide path to little old Astoria, Monica! How great that the oh, so nice Jona was able to visit! Did you show her the wood pile?
August 26th, 2009Cheers!
Triple snap in a Z to you Monica…I always love to visit and you never disapoint.
August 26th, 2009You are one savvy blogger…entertaing and always good for a big smile… thanks for that.

Monica,
August 27th, 2009You are too funny (although you could’ve photoshopped out a couple of my wrinkes)! Yes, I was ready to stick that cute little waiter in my pocket and take him home with me. :D
I’m so glad I got to make my journey to the Quilting Mecca that is your home (retriever land mines and all)! Tom is a super sweety and that clam chowder was buttery/bacon-y delicious (right up there with my bacon maple bar at Voodoo). You were the high-light of my vacation!
Now it’s your turn to come here!
So did you see your bundle on the Iraqi bundle blog! I recognized that strawberry needle book. And Art put a challenge out there for all the folks who go to Houston. Maybe something new for the blogging crew?
August 27th, 2009It sure looks and sounds like you had a great time! Gotta love the net….
