Dude, Where’s My BOM?
January 11th, 2009
Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs has a crazy cute free BOM she’s started on her Bunny Tales blog. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to drop everything and get started on it. Who needs to eat?! Bad example. Who needs to do other stuff?! I’m not the only one who’s dropped everything to start it either. Anne S’s fabric block was so cute… but so was Anne B’s darling version in wool. What to do, what to do… so I did both. My background and appliqué is fabric, and my non-denominational frozen precipitation figure (with the giant schnoz, oops) is wool felt.
It’s all a mystery, but Anne has great instructions so you can do some planning ahead. For my blocks, my background is from my coveted bolt of yellow Moda polka dot (my sunshine-on-a-bolt), and my appliqué will all be in Swell and Sweet. Swell. Sweet. Swell. Sweet. Swell. Sweet. My apologies to the Urban Chicks for the image popping into my head of you two getting tattoos.
Edited in: The yummy, yummy, yummy yellow background is a Moda Basics called “Dottie” and the color is called “Butter”. Call your local/online quilt shop TODAY and BEG them to order you some. And then please let me know about it… I want need to buy more!

January 13th, 2009Cheers!
so i look at your blog post today right? and i think “oh that is a cute applique of a snowperson in a garden basket”…and then i see the title “Where’s My BOM?” and i wonder what is BOM? i have no idea so i type in BOM to google search and some flickr links come up and WHOA!!!! i see all these, you know girls. girls with extra large bosoms. very large and somewhat undressed bosoms. then of course it hits me..oh!!! that must mean something sewing related not body related! i come back here all smart as a whip and it comes to me…..block of the month right?!! am i with you now? well you know it isn’t my fault. i wasn’t here in the first place as a seamstress. that was secondary to coming as a mutual friend of Laurie’s. but now i’m in tune :)

January 23rd, 2009Christine
What a cute block. It’s so cool everyone’s block of this same pattern look so different. I like the rick rack handle.
January 24th, 2009Your block is so cute. I am in love with the dots!! I may have to give this block a go as well.. I saw it and saved it but now that I have seen others it makes me want to try it too. I am new to blogging but am going to try it out. I have lots to tell. Ha Ha.
January 24th, 2009Monica,
Your block is awesome! My online quilting group is doing this block and sharing pictures too, but none of us has used such fun and bright fabrics! I hope the snowman doesn’t melt with all that sunshine! I think I might put a cowboy hat on mine (since I’m in Texas) to shade him from the sun a little. Thanks for sharing!
Anna
January 30th, 2009Yo Woman. I keep coming back to this post. Methinks I’m obsessed. Do you know the name of those polka dots? I might have to hunt them down. I’ve tried searching moda.yellow.polka.dots and no joy. Is there any hope???
