Last one. I promise.
December 19th, 2008
Last snow post. I promise. Really. Even though in some spots we got 4-6” of it last night, and more is promised on the way (ice is also forecast, so I don’t know if we’re too excited anymore)…
On my honor
I will say
No more mention of snow
At least not for today
Oh wait. It IS today. Ok… tonight then. Tonight didn’t rhyme with “say”. So, you know, anyhoo. A few more pics. I did after all do some housekeeping housecropping. We don’t typically get a lot of snow in NW Oregon, and we’ve gotten gobs of it at our house overnight. A pretty big deal for us. From the comments on my last post… is there any place that’s not getting snow? Snow in LAS VEGAS… in LOUISIANA… holy smokes! I even heard on the news that MALIBU got a dusting. I can’t stop combing blogland to see other friends in the area - to see how the snow looks at their houses… so I feel it’s a public service here in The Land of Rain to post more of my photos. I’m in love with Vicki’s, Jodi’s and Cranna Nanna’s winter pics. Dream, dreamy, dreamy.
Last night as it snowed. The view from my spot on the sofa. TV to left. The snowman to the right. My head held firm to the right.
Even Mochi the cat was entertained.
I copied Paula after seeing her lights on her kitchen window.

Our non-denominational frozen precipitation figure
“A wife, please” He does have That Look in his apple-eyes. We better get crack-a-lackin’ - and maybe we’ll have snowbabies by morning.
Ok. I’m done.

Oh, say it aint so. Please don’t stop posting your lovely pictures. For those of us suffering from the single season blues… we enjoy seeing all the winter wonder that you have been blessed with. Love it!
December 19th, 2008I love the snowperson. Enjoy the snow. It’s snowing over here too but in CT in the winter, we expect it so I’m not going to show pictures. Since we had a snowday, I kept myself busy by making your pennie pockets… awesome! I will post pictures on my blog in a few days. Take a peek when you can!
Jen :)
December 19th, 2008No snow down here in the south Bay area of CA but it has been mighty chilly at night. There is a bit of frost on the car windows that are street parked. We’ve kept the thermostat at a nice 73 degrees and have stayed nice and toasty warm. :-)
Love the non-denominational frozen precipitation figure!
December 19th, 2008Non denominational frozen precipitation figure? Doesn’t get much more PC than that!!
December 19th, 2008Love your pics Monica, please keep posting them!

December 19th, 2008I love the enthusiastic snow post. I live in Vermont. Snow is something we do all too well. It is 4 degrees and snowing hard (over 8 inches so far for today, more coming on Sunday). Every other day lately. After having some of the worst driving conditions in a long while today, I do really appreciate the good outlook on the snow. It is beautiful. We will have a white Christmas. Please keep the fun coming. I absolutely love your blog!!!
December 19th, 2008Oh a nondemoninational precipitation figure. With abs. Wow, what’s not to love about OR?
Thanks for the closeup. Is the coffee on? I’d like a cup. Miss you xo
December 19th, 2008I never get tired of looking at snow pictures, especially through your eyes!
You know now that you mentioned it, we got some snow this week, too! I was just too busy to realize it. The kids were out of school and everything!
December 19th, 2008We just got dumped on about 10 inches or so with more to come. But as you already know I am not so fond of the stuff… lived with it all my life. But I can really understand your enthusiasm. I love your nondenominational precipitation figure… What did you use for those wonderful big eyes??
December 19th, 2008There is no snow here in Virginia yet and I am near the mountains…please don’t stop posting. I might miss Mrs. non-denominational precipitation figure. I love the pics. Does the slope take reservations?
December 19th, 2008No apologies needed for snow photos! I love your enthusiasm for the white fluffies. Me? . . . I’d be posting them for a month if we ever got that much. (!) Love them all. . . ! xo, Bren
December 19th, 2008Wow, a winter wonderland. What in the world happens to Astoria and all those hills? Especially that one big one by that mansion. (I can’t remember the name of the street). We’ve gotten snow too and the “big one” is on it’s way tomorrow night. Guess you’ll be getting it during the day. Stay warm!

I have a snow post but it doesn’t hold a candle to yours :-)!!! Love the pictures…more please!
December 20th, 2008Your window is so darn cute, and the snowman through the window - magical!!!!
Thank you for sharing the snow pictures with us. It’s rainy and windy here, but the temperature isn’t bad.
December 20th, 2008I love the layout of your blog! Lots of fun to go throught (O:
Have a very nice weekend.
Love your window all decorated. I can never get enough of snow pictures.
December 20th, 2008I LOVE your snow pictures. I want MORE, MORE, MORE!! We have gotten about 8 or 9 inches yesterday and last night and it’s still snowing. It looks like a snow globe. The snow is one thing I will miss terribly when we leave here. I’ll be posting some snow soon on my blog. :) Have fun out there making a woman for your snowguy! :)
December 20th, 2008The snow pictures are great - but I really love the window picture! It looks like such a great kitchen to be in. I also love your chair by the window. I’d never want to leave it.
December 20th, 2008No snow here in Mobile, AL. So for our sake, please post more snow pics! :)
December 20th, 2008Sorry to rain (I only wish) on your parade but I am sick of the stuff. Many of the fun holiday activities I look forward to all year have been cancelled because of this junk. I could never live in the NE or mid west.
Your pictures are great and I loved the snow for the first three days but now it is getting old and freezing rain and ice on top of this - get me some good old Oregon rain!!
December 20th, 2008Shirlene
What a veritable winter wonderland you are currently in the middle of! Enjoy it while you can!
December 20th, 2008How incredible! I am jealous of your snow days. I’m a cali girl, so I don’t get to see much snow. It’s fun to come to your blog and drool over all the lovely pictures.
Cheers,
December 20th, 2008Shannon
Nope, no snow here in Sac Town, darn it! Last week, though, the levels came down low enough so the foothill towns were getting a little. I would just LOVE to have me some snow, although it would be nice if it arrived on a weekend when we didn’t have to drive anywhere in it!
December 20th, 2008Just beautiful! It looks like a fairy land. I really like your snow fella, he does look a little wistful and lonely…dreaming of a white Christmas!!
December 21st, 2008Noooooo! Don’t stop! This is all very entertaining! :-)
December 21st, 2008Monica, Where I am a person who does funny things unintentionally, you are truly a funny person! The PNW Snow Bunny — Santa Monica:
December 22nd, 2008The snow WAS great, the first couple storms — I’m done now, take it away!! 14 - 16″ sitting on the deck, tire chains to get around (and YES — I did it myself), and my sweet baby sister’s flight cancelled!! All done!! I’m through for several years now, thanks.
Just let me have 2 birthdays on the 24th (Son’s 17th and Mom’s 79th) and 1 on Christmas — BABY JESUS himself, without too much more effort.
Merry Christmas to the Doyenne of the Quilt Blogging World (I love reading you!),
hugs from the grump in Seattle,
Bonnie
Looks beautiful - even if you have to dig yourself out! Enjoy, and happy holidays! XO
December 22nd, 2008The close up for Pam is the cutest picture. It could be a card - seriously. So darling. We have about a foot just today. It’s been snowing since Thurs. on/off. Kinda fun if I had my shopping done.
December 22nd, 2008Bring on the Snow pictures! And the Mochi pics- SUCH a pretty baby! And house cropping, and snow, kitchen windows, and more snow!!! We luuuuv snowy goodness pics :)
December 22nd, 2008Ooohhh look at all the purty photos of snow!
December 23rd, 2008Wish we had all that snow here! We seemed to get ours in November!

December 23rd, 2008But has anyone checked on The Goat?
I feel TERRIBLE that I can’t remember his name.
Should I send one of the scarf sets to him?
I actually just topped by to say Happy Holidays, but I am SO with you on the snow. Isn’t it insane??? I just kept taking pictures, thinking that I had captured the peak of insanity, but then it would snow MORE! Bizarre.
December 23rd, 2008But anyway. Happy Holidays! :-)
~Angela :-)
You were really serious about the last snow post! I wanna see more pictures. Do I count? LOL. Hope you have a very Merry Snowy White Christmas! Have loved getting to know you through your fab blog! Perhaps we’ll meet in the New Year? ooxx`jod
December 24th, 2008I love your snow pictures! Your kitchen window is so great!!!! I think your snow-person does have a bit of a lecherous look in his eye.
December 26th, 2008Enjoy the snow! When it’s a novelty, it is lovely. I like it much better that way. I love you pennie pockets! Thank you for the tutorial. They will make super little gifties for my two college age daughters and their roommates, after they get back to school. A little floral taste of spring with some little candies, as our gray winter weather gets oppressing.
December 26th, 2008your pictures are beautiful.
December 28th, 2008We had no snow. And it’s been in the 60s here, too. Of course, with that we get rain. Lots and lots of rain. I may drown at any moment. ;)
December 28th, 2008You guys out west need to stop having so much snow because a few days after you, we get a good size storm in NH. Had 2 feet the weekend before Christmas. Enough already!
December 29th, 2008Hello from another Astorian. Like you, I love the snow. I miss it now that it has all melted, reminded me of growing up in Idaho. Too bad my sewing room was too **** cold to work in!
Nice blog, I’ll visit again.
December 29th, 2008It has been fun visiting here. The snow looks beautiful on the “slopes of Astoria” I have family in Silverton, Woodburn ans Salem. Oregon is beautiful country!
December 29th, 2008Blessings,
Terisa
always…”running with scissors”
I think the snow got stalled over Oregon…Ohio have NONE! What a picture perfect scene of your cute tablescape in front of the snowy window. I love the teacup lamp!!! I’m all about tea.
December 30th, 2008What a lovely winterwonderland!
December 30th, 2008Happy new year!
It all looks so dreamy and the pictures from the window are wonderful!! I’m sure you’re more than tired of it but it’s fun to look at from Arizona (my sisters are in Portland so we’ve gotten lots peeks)! I hope you’re thawing out now. :)
December 30th, 2008I have more snow photos, too, but I don’t know if I really want to show them anymore. Yes, I am that tired of the snow, and we still have a LOT. I am seeing larger patches of green in the lawn, so it’s proof positive the white stuff is going bye-bye. We’re in the ugly stage of snow now. So sad.
December 30th, 2008Your kitchen window is totally cute in it’s Christmas-y decor. I love the view of the snow person from your living room, and Mochi’s pretty cute, too.
Oh, by the way, I think we had your snowbabies in our yard, or maybe they were just lumps of snow that looked like snowbabies!
Look at how fluffy and white it is! I am so jealous, I wish it could snow here, instead were all inside under the aircon in a heat wave!
December 31st, 2008Happy New Year. Adds xx
hehe snow-picture addicted, just like me.
January 6th, 2009hey you know what ? your interior pictures are kinda really making me want to paint one of our living room wall in a bright turquoise.. hummm.
p.s. im still thinking about that “pretty garden shed” at night when i can’t sleep…
between this post and the ones above i must say it is a wonderful place to live and you make it all look so happy!!! the street shots…i can hardly believe you had that much snow!!!!
