Better living through harming the ozone
June 16th, 2008
An innocent little trip to Amanda’s blog made me trigger happy. Spray paint trigger happy. Amanda inspired me here and here. First the big planters, then DS’s old, old boots he wore ONE time when he went to Outdoor School in Vernonia, OR - and his feet grew the very next week. The park bench is next. And then I’m off to search for something else to spray in red and aqua. I’m eying my son’s John Deere. Yellow and green? Ha.
I am the keeper of these roses. The previous owner of our home planted them and I do not know what kind they are. We call them Missile Pops because that’s what they look like when they’re budding…
And Pink Lemonaid when they’re blooming.
Happy Monday!
Edited in: Paint is Krylon indoor/outdoor gloss. Aqua is “Blue Ocean Breeze” and red is “Cherry Red”. I did spray the black boots with a coat of white first to make the aqua pop.

Gorgeous roses! And what WOULDN’T look better with a bit of Aqua & Red?
PS - I did the new colors @ the apronista - green is behaving very nicely. Although pink is…well, you know how pink is.

June 16th, 2008So, who makes that lovely aqua blue spray paint? Do tell!!
I’m going to St.Vinnies and find me a pair of big ol boots and then Wednesday when I go to Iron Mt. I will get me some of that spray paint and there ya go…I love the “boot” planters. Now, I just gotta figure what I will plant in them, but I do know I will put them on the deck! :-) Killer idea
June 16th, 2008I am a total spray junkie right now. On any given day you will see nothing but spray paint on the blog. I want to paint it all.

Those roses are gorgeous. People around here don’t have lots of roses. I miss them. We used to have Mr. Lincolns. They’re red and big and they smell FANTASTIC! I love roses, but they have to smell good.

June 18th, 2008Very cute pot and boots. I’ll have to think about what I can paint. I have an old Tonka dumptruck in my garden. Leave it chipped and rusty? Or paint it new and shiny? I can’t decide.

June 22nd, 2008I really enjoyed this post! I think the rose is one of the most beautiful I have seen! I was once touring a friend’s garden which had been chosen for an article in Southern Living, and she had an old pair of workboots that her husband was throwing away, and she had planted colorful flowers in it. I remember that most about her garden. I plan to do the same with an old pair of men’s boots I have here. Love your blog!
June 24th, 2008My absolute favorite color combo is red and turquoise! what a fabulous idea you have with putting those colors in your garden. Those roses look like very healthy Peace roses! That is on my list of plants to put in my garden.
