Welcome to my Bed & Make Your Own Damn Breakfast
April 10th, 2008
My subject title makes no sense, other then I’ve not made my bed in days… and have skipped breakfast for weeks. Which is really bad, because I’m one of those peeps who makes the bed as soon as I hop out of it! So here’s a little of what’s been going on…
I’m gushing and blushing - I’ve received some wonderful emails asking if I’m ok… why am I MIA… did I know that moss was growing on my blog… all wonderful and I thank you for your concern. I’m so touched!
Also in my in-box… but the big in-box that’s at the end of my driveway… some mailbox love from That silly lil’ Doe! I’m going to be very quiet. Shhh. Quiet. You’re getting very relaxed. I have a nice afternoon nappy time story for you. Shh. No talking. Just enjoy:
Once upon a time, that sweet lil’ Doe sent some shroonie love to Oregon.
A teenie tiny little shroonie tea set. The plate no bigger than a dime. Who could use such a small set?
This is who. A sweet lil’ Annie.
Annie is an Annie… but Annie is not her name. She’s been too busy settling in (with her new best friend Mimi and the adorable pineapple pincushion Auntie Karen brought back from Maui), to pick out a name for herself. I think she needs help and suggestions.
I think someone is right at home! Isn’t she just the cutest thing ever! Doe adopted my Annie for me from here. Wowie, zowie - be prepared for the second cutest Annies on earth (that’s right… you know who’s got the #1)!
But wait… there’s more:
Sigh. Marie Clarie Idées Love. Oh thank you Doe!!!
But wait… there’s EVEN MORE!
Recently my fabulous friend Deanna of Domestic Chicky had a contest on her other blog - The Apronista, for a DARLING apron from Marie-Madeline Studio. Out of 399 comments… mine got drawn! Get out of here! This is the cutest apron! Oh I love it so. Thank you Deanna and Marie-Madeline!
I was going to post about what I’ve been working on… but I suddenly want to nap. Part II after my nappy-nap.

Her name should be Sweet Silly Sarah! :D
April 10th, 2008Of course I think she should be named after a fabulous type person, so “Lovely Lissa” is perfect name! LOL I might add, I was a redhead…..once… (now I am a fat blonde/grey old bag)
I got one of those wee tea sets but with cows ! its super cute (until bastard cat knocked a couple of them off the top of the breadbox grrrr) and I am loving your shelf! how freaking gorgeous is everything on and above your shelf???

Yowser….I thought you were just napping for a while…oh my..lookie at the goodies!!!
April 10th, 2008Love all them, specially the annie and of course I will be stealing that apron, next time I’m at your house….so don’t wonder where it went!!
Fair warning!!
Ohhh chock full of eye candy goodness. Love it all. Doe is so cute and I love that mushroom stuff. And Nicole’s little Annie’s are adorable. Love the shelf and can’t wait to SEE IT IN PERSON IN A LITTLE MORE THAN A MONTH.
Although I did have a dream about you last night.. starring in my first pre-market stress dream was YOU in a bar wearing a HUGE kind of mod looking Laugh-In style green and white polka dot hat. I have no idea what that was about. Seriously. Anyway, the bar was in the ratty hotel E had us booked into and it was between our rooms. I called your cell from the hall and out you popped from the bar. Man, what is up with my mind when I’m not using it?

April 10th, 2008OMG PKM… that is SO funny! Hey, I think I need to pull a Sarah Silverman and make a video… I’m effing Rowan & Martin. I’m honored to be in your crazy dream. Will it come true??? We shall see! - Monica

Wow! What great stuff! I really love those little mushrooms — they’re just too cute.
April 10th, 2008Where is the pineapple next to Annie from? Love your stuff :) Thanks for sharing!
April 10th, 2008Love it all and the shelf of goodness is wonderful.
April 10th, 2008Oh, just too too cute!
April 10th, 2008And as usual, you crack me up. (My little grandson tells me that, only he says in his five-year-old voice “Gwammie, You Cwack me up”…
Love it!
I was worried about you, but didn’t e-mail you. Shame on me! I have missed you! :)
That Doe is so sweet. I love every thing she gave you. Annie and Mimi look like they’re getting along just fine!
April 10th, 2008I love a happy post. I wasn’t worried. Just assumed you were busy like me. btw, your little ‘ironing station’ is an inspiration in the studio that should be nearing completion this week!!!
April 10th, 2008glad to see you are back!! I too have lots of work that I find blogging hard to do. That Doe is very cute!! So is it just me or do you think Bill Maher needs to get some better guests? I have not been impressed since he came back and sometimes I find myself sleepy which never used to happen!! Come on Bill where are the fun mix of Celebs and political people?
April 10th, 2008What a whole bunch of sweetness!!! Annie looks right at home :-)! The shelf is so stinkin cute
April 10th, 2008(that’s a Doeism :-))!!
She is lovely!and so sweet…
April 10th, 2008Ya know, in general, “It is hard being a Raggedy Anne in a Barbie Doll world,” but not when you are as cute as she is!
April 11th, 2008Glad to see your posting again….busy world we live in….but your posts make my day and make me think I could just walk up the hill and see you…glad you’re back! L
April 11th, 2008I need a nap too after that great post. Lots of wonderful things popping up in the mail. All the gifties look like they found a great home.
April 11th, 2008Adorable teaset and adorable Annie from the definitely adorable Doe - you are a lucky, lucky girl! I am not good at thinking of cute and wonderful names for things - that’s your department, my friend! I’ll give it a good think, though.
April 11th, 2008The apron you won is too pretty to wear for cooking. I think you should wear the apron and the honkin’ green and white polka dot hat in Pam’s dream. You’d be stylin’ girl! Pictures, please!
Killing me with the Sarah Silverman response to PKM! I tried to watch that video while working out on the elliptical and almost ruptured a disc or a tendon or something.
Your annie is definitely a Sophie.
April 11th, 2008Glad you’re “back”
Hey Kristin, thats what I was going to say! She is a Sophie for sure! Not just because of my Sophie, but really, truly, it suits her!
April 11th, 2008Glad to see your back Monica - and a treat to see your special shelf up close.
I think she looks like a Gertrude. Gertrude Lou. “Gertie” for short.
Glad you’re back!
April 11th, 2008I used to make my bed every day - it was like I couldn’t start the day without doing so. It all started when we were robbed while we were out and I was actually embarrased that the robbers and policeman saw my unmade bed. Now, I pull up the covers - and it’s good enough (even for a break-in).
April 11th, 2008I love your Annie - I have one of her cousins. Warning ladies, they go FAST! Nicole’s little touches on them are so precious.
Mimi also has a young cousin, called Mia because she was MIA for several days due to our dyslexic postman. Her coloring isn’t quite as bright as Mimi’s, but she is a little “Gem.”
Your display area is so beautiful and the additions so special. What nice things. Its good to hear from you.
April 11th, 2008Oh goodie! There you are!
What a beautiful little dolly and she fits right in with everybody else on that shelf (I hope they are treating her well). Now I’m curious and must go find that Sarah Silverman skit.
April 11th, 2008She is too cute! I think her name should be “Coco” cause every sewing room needs a little coco!
April 11th, 2008I’m so glad you took a break from your busy, busy schedule. I’m loving that gorgeous apron! “Annie” looks happy up on that ledge. She looks like a Lilo. Eh, what do you think?
April 11th, 2008Thank you, Thank you, for coming back, I was really wondering what happened too!! What lovely gifts you received and what wonderful friends. I just love the bright picture of your studio, love it!!
April 12th, 2008What a lovely doll!
Kind egards

Ooh, what a great mail week you had! It all goes so perfectly in your colorful studio space! You Lucky Thing! :)
April 13th, 2008Anna Bella. That’s her name. It was whispered in my ear. And it means Beautiful Anna–just what she is.
April 13th, 2008Yo, yo, yo! I’m so envious of all your new goodies! I’ve been checking on your blog from time to time to see what you’ve been up to and thinking to myself… Hmmm, she must be up to sumtin’ good. I’ve been busy as heck myself and my bed hasn’t been made in weeks (and I can’t remember when I had breakfast last!) so I know how it is! I hope we can still meet up at Market. Can’t believe that’s only 4 weeks away! eeeek! I have so much still to do! Glad to see you back in blogland. toodooloo
April 14th, 2008WOW, you are the luckiest! Annie and her little shrooms are the best!
April 14th, 2008Oh, what gorgeous treasures showed up at your house. I am so tickled for you!
April 14th, 2008I cannot stand how cute that mushroom set is and I don’t think I’d advise you to have me over to your house unless you hide them first.
April 15th, 2008Oh my goodness! So adorable. All of it! Just found your blog. I only wishI had found you sooner!
April 17th, 2008Annie is so cute, but I just loved your cheery cherry tablerunner hanging on the wall. I seemed to remember that you had posted the instruction for that tablerunner on your blog and after digging through some of my “Must Do’s” - it must have been meant to be, because I found it. I just wanted to tell you that I have it almost put together (it was late when I started it and then the dog rolled through the pieces) but they were just the best directions. I don’t recall ever putting anything together so easily. So a Big Thank You for my new (almost finished) tablerunner.
Kim
April 20th, 2008congrats on the apron!! Those gals make beautiful things. Jennifer
