All aboard the Sidetrack Express

January 6th, 2008

I have a Euro-pass aboard this train - and I just can’t seem to hop off the Sidetrack Express. Trying to catch up with everyone, write a pattern that’s due, mountains of laundry, get out of my jammies, blah, blah, blah… and up pops the greatest little toot on June’s blog. I couldn’t just try this later when I had more time. No. I had to do this now. Right now. And now the bee is flying up my butt again, as I’m already fusing fabric to cardstock in my head! Must get off the train. Must get off the train. Must get off the train. What’s really scaring me is if I go here, here and here… I know all three of those fabric-pimpettes are going to send me to another project I’ll want to start RIGHT NOW.

I’m guessing I’m not the only one who’s on the train with me. Click if you dare.

Sweet and innocent Mr. Mochiko…
Watching.
Waiting.
This purse strap is MINE! At least I can say my sewing is done. ~WHEW! Ha. For now at least. But I do so love to sew.

And now Mamacita Naturita has it in for me too. It’s snowing! Doesn’t she know I have a deadline???

I’m afraid to go. Because I like fusing and getting sidetracked.

Purse strap huh? I might make a guess about that. (winky wink) That’s some cute fabric. I am working on the same thing so no new fabric pimping here.

Glad to see a post from you! I miss the Zombie!

ROFLOL!! You girlfriend are tooooo much. I’ve missed you, glad your back. Love that origami box making. I just may have to take some quiting time out to hook myself up with one of those. Thanks just what I needed another freakin project.

Your little boxes look great! I’m so tickled you’re enjoying the tutorial. Isn’t it amazing how the simplest little thing can make us happy? Making little boxes has really enthralled me.

NO! I’m not clicking! I’m staying focused, love to watch you go by on the train tho!

I made teeny tiny boxes similar to those from a tutorial I found at Scribbit’s. I finally had to stop when my fingers were sore from all the folding.

And I was staying on track so very well…

OK …. so I’m not already easily distracted enough … now I’ll be adding “little box making” to my piddling around/procrastination activities …. and I’ll have to come up with yet another story to tell my husband about how there just aren’t enough hours in the day and I just don’t have enough time to get things done, blah, blah ,blah…….(and I’ll be saying that to him as I’m hiding one little box behind my back, and trying to nonchalantly slide another one under the bed with my foot ….)

Sounds like a day to throw your arms up and just do what you can! I hope you are having a great, while busy, 2008!

I was just introduced to the wonderful world of beads recently. OMG I thought buying fabric was addictive and expensive. But wait, there’s more! It’s not just the beads - there are tools, wire, and so much more. Call now for your latest distraction. What? Sewing and fabric and bead collecting aren’t enough? How about knitting? I just wanted to learn how to knit socks! I’ve made 5 felted bags since September (don’t even ask how I went from one to the other, though I think I was derailed on the Sidetrack Express when it happened). Believe me, there aren’t enough meds for OCD (Overt Craft Distractions).

That dangerous train tempts us all… but it’s weird, sometimes I have more fun on the side projects than the real thing!

My gosh, lady, I already have ADD and can’t stay focused, I am NOT going to look at more crafty goodness so I can have more distractions! Hope you enjoyed your snow! :)

That’s so clever & fun… santa looks so hip, squared!

Welcome Aboard! I’m the conductor on the Sidetrack Express. Hence the piles of unfinished projects, stacks of clippings of things I’m going to do next, and piles of this and that.

One thing about the Sidetrack Express, it’s never lonely here!

I had to laugh at this post - I see myself! I have deadlines, but what am I doing? Everything else but what I should be doing!! I feel much better now that I know I’m not alone in being sidetracked - woohoo!!
What a great project at Junie Moon’s blog, by the way! Thanks for sharing!

Farting around with needle & thread and then blogging about it.
