My day has officially been made!
February 2nd, 2008
Holy Moly… I got the nicest award from Ellen - the You Make My Day Award. I was just gushing when I read the nice things she said about me, and then went into a full on blush-n-gush because it came from her… someone who is so talented, so sweet and so fun. I kid you not, there’s probably something uber cute in your house right now that Ellen designed. Thank you Ellen!
So here’s the thing. Apparently there’s rules, an order of code and conduct I must follow as the recipient. Rules? Instructions? I’m not good with that. I have a box full of old reports cards, from Kindergarten on up, where my lovely teachers felt the need to inform my parents that “…does not follow instruction“, “…colored outside the lines“, “…is a pleasure to have in my class - as long as she sits up front where I can keep an eye on her“, “… makes up words“, “… talking in class, “. Oh it goes on, but I’ll spare you all. And just who is this Webster and why does he get to have all the fun.
But I break rules for noblest of reasons (this was my defense to my parents as well). I’m supposed to now pass the baton on to five bloggers. Oh sure, sounds simple enough. To the unknown person who thought this up… have you seen my blogroll? Have you seen my Bloglines??? Five. Right. Sure. The hardest thing about just listing five - it’s the ones I have to leave out by not putting them in one of the slots. Makes me sad and uncomfortable. Know what I mean? Randy and Paula say you’re goin’ to Hollywood, but Simon only likes you when he’s drunk. How would the rest of the Bunch have felt if Alice only baked cookies for *Peter? And how does THAT feel, eh. To heck with the rules.
So here’s the deal. My blog, my rules, my made-up words, my talking while blogging, my version of the graphic… I’m tagging everyone on my blogroll because I heart you all. *When I was 10, I would have only baked for cookies for Peter. Seriously.

Well you definitely make my day as well. Always so nice to visit and see all the fun stuff. The downside to using Google Reader is that you don’t see the cheerful colors and prints of your site unless you click to leave a comment. Hmm, I guess the lesson is that I should leave more comments so that I can get my fill of eye candy. :-)
February 2nd, 2008You totally make my day as well. I love it when my bloglines shows a Happy Z update.
I can totally tell you’re not a rule follower, get a load of that cute little badge!!
February 2nd, 2008You rock girl! I’m totally accepting your award:)
February 2nd, 2008A well deserved award I might say. Oh yes I might. Cause you are one nice person. And I’m with Pam, that is one adorable award.
February 2nd, 2008I’m snagging that award~ got it! These bloggy awards are so fun and sweet to get, but I’m with you on the rules thing. I feel like those kids in 2nd grade that didn’t give Valentine’s to the stinky kids. Thanks for not making me be a stinky kid today…
February 2nd, 2008You, my friend, so deserve all the awards! You are totally out of the lines, which is so fun for all of us around you!
February 3rd, 2008Congrats on not leaving anyone out, it is so like you to include everyone!
You do ROCK!
that is the best!! I wish I could say that, but then again I have a shorter blog roll since I have been only doing it for about 5 months.
I guess I did follow the rules but sometimes it just calls for it. I am not by any means a follower and if you ask my parents they would easily chime in on how I would always do my own thing. I think I felt it was soo sweet of my new friend Kathy to think of me this way I felt obliged to do the same.
Besides anyone who loves the same sort of silly things as myself deserves a little sunshine!!
xo Ellen
