Cooties!

December 29th, 2006

I had just used the word “cooties” in a comment I wrote (in the Funkytown post). Not having ever spelled the word, I of course spelled it wrong. To my surprise… my Mac red-lined the incorrect word I typed and not only spelled it correctly for me, but it was in my Mac’s dictionary as well! Cooties… in the dictionary? Who would have thunk. Just one of those “had to share” moments.

As far back as I can remember… I thought the word was “coodie”. I don’t know if I’m ready to acknowledge the “t” in cootie yet. Letting go of the “d” is going to be rough and I may choose the denial route on this one. Fist shaking in the air… Damn you Oxford American Dictionary, damn you!
